A Daily Devotional –Gospel – The Eternal Word (11)

A Daily Devotional –Gospel – The Eternal Word

Comment: My wife and I continually read a section of Psalm 119 everyday, we also read a chapter of Proverbs, the one that corresponds to the date of the day. Now I do not say this to brag on our religion, since we do not have a religion. If there be anything true, noble, just, pure, lovely, of good report, virtuous or praiseworthy in this testimony it is because Philippians 4:8 is real peace for anyone who is willing to meditate on the Living Word of God. Daily in our reading, God brings Light to our soul, words that we have read hundreds of times, yet for the purposes of fellowship and meditation, God speaks peace and assurance that He is with us. God accepts the freewill offerings of our soul and teaches us His judgments; He protects us even when we take our lives out of His Hands and fumble around with it in our fleshly hands (Psalm 119:108-109).

Devotional: In the earlier section of Psalm 119, we read in verses 103-104 the Words of God are sweet to our taste, sweeter than honey to our mouth! We understand that the Psalmist is not referring to his physical mouth, but he does compare the physical pleasure of eating sweet things with the soul’s desire to be fed the ‘precepts of God’ these teach us physically, spiritually and mentally to dislike the bitterness of the false and evil way of life.

This involvement in the Word of God (meditation) allows us to increase our faith and know of certainty that Christ is risen from the dead. That He is the firstfruit of those who have fallen asleep (died). For since by man (Adam) death became real in all lives, also by MAN (Jesus Christ), all who believe in Him will be made alive. The mystery of this goes away when we use FAITH to believe, since without faith it is impossible to believe God, Hebrews 11:6, God rewards everyone who believes in Him through the gospel.

1 Corinthians 15:20-28 reveals to the one who meditates on Truth that God through Jesus Christ His only begotten Son will set apart and make holy every person who believes the gospel. For in Adam, all die, even so in Christ all shall be made alive. This Truth not only provides for eternal life for those who believe, but it also provides faithful insight that once the last enemy (death) is defeated, God will be ALL IN ALL, meaning that sin and death will no longer EXIST. Hallelujah, Amen!

A Daily Devotional –Gospel – The Eternal Word (10)

A Daily Devotional –Gospel – The Eternal Word

Comment: We all remember those days when we first learned to drive a car and depending on how long ago that has been, driving has become as comfortable to us as sitting in or on a chair. The point is this, driving and sitting requires FAITH and ASSURANCE that the task is something you can CONFIDENTLY DO! There is a responsibility that goes along with sitting and driving and that is if you do these two things, there will come a time when you will need to teach someone that your faith and assurance can be relied on. Remember it would be foolish to teach someone to drive or sit if you yourself could not do so with confidence.

Devotional: The apostle Paul in his first letter to the Corinthians devoted over 1200 words in the 15th chapter of 1 Corinthians to exhort the Corinthian saints that they can be confident in their faith that the gospel of God’s Son is REAL. If you lack the ability to share the gospel of Christ with other folks then I encourage you to not only read and study this chapter, but also to meditate on all 1200 words in the chapter. Your relationship to God and your fellow man is; after all a relationship of faith, is it not?

In verses 1 through 11 we have the Risen Savior revealed by the apostle as FAITH’S reality, not based on Paul’s authority, but on the authority and reality of scripture. “According to the scripture” what scripture is that Paul? The New Testament has yet to be written at this point in time, so it is evident that the reference of Paul is the Old Testament scripture. See Psalm 16 and 22, also Daniel 9:24-27. And did not the Ethiopian become a child of God as Philip shared the death and resurrection of the LORD Jesus from Isaiah 53.

The Risen Christ is our only hope, see verses 12 through 19; the last enemy that a human will face in this life is DEATH, Jesus has destroyed death because He is the FIRST FRUIT of the resurrection for all that have or will die by faith in Him. If we remain as Adam (faithless) we die and if we come to Christ, we belong to Him (faithful), reconciled to God in Christ. The effect on every individual who rejects or denies the resurrection is the second death. Revelation 20:6. Why? because they did not believe in the First resurrection.

We will see more on this tomorrow, in the meantime “Walk by FAITH and you will not carry out the DEEDS of the flesh.”

A Daily Devotional – Prophetic – The Eternal Word (9)

A Daily Devotional – Prophetic – The Eternal Word (9)

Comment: It is good to be home, there is no place like being home. It is also good to travel, there are no replays, once the travel experience is over we rely on memories and pictures. As I think about this I am reminded of God who in His humanity travelled to earth, who took upon Himself the entire sin of the world. He has memories and He has WORD pictures of those days on earth. Truth is, He has these word pictures that began in eternity pass and will continue throughout eternity future. Psalm 22:16, Zechariah 12:10-14 and Revelation 1:7 and if you study this topic you will see many other references in the Old and New Testaments of Him who was pierced.

Devotional: Hebrews 13:20-22 – The LORD, God of our salvation will never forget or lay aside His sacrifice for our sins, the sins of the whole world of mankind is nailed to the cross and we bare it no more. The exception is; WE MUST PERSONALLY BELIEVE THIS TRUTH BY FAITH. Jesus Christ is the Great Shepherd. Those who believe this have been made COMPLETE to do His Will in order that we might glorify God forever and ever.

We are COMPLETE in God our Savior through the blood of the everlasting covenant. This work was accomplished ONCE for ALL, (Phil 2:13) by God Himself. He alone has wiped away the sin and made us who believe, who were once in darkness and INCOMPLETE, the glory of God ‘IN CHRIST’ alone. The writer of Hebrews understands that those who do not believe, ought to heed and believe the words of EXHORTATION regarding the Blood of the Everlasting Covenant.

The Word of God is TRUE, note Acts 4:11-12 – “This is the STONE which was rejected by you builders (Israel), which has become the CHIEF cornerstone (Psalm 118:21-24). Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other NAME under heaven given among men by which we MUST be saved. The Word pictures of our Savior and LORD are prophetic truth and summed up in these words of Jesus Himself. “I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End” says the LORD GOD, “who IS and who WAS and who is to COME, the ALMIGHTY.” Revelation 1:8, see also Revelation 1:7.
