A Daily Devotional –Love and Grace – The Eternal Word

Comment: Ever attend a Bible Study or Church Service and feel as though the teacher or pastor has found out some of the inner workings of your heart? Well if you are a child of God and say no to that question you are no doubt, face to face with the LORD, see 2 Corinthians 5:8. In this earthly body, God the Holy Spirit is our guide to Righteous living, being spiritual is not relative; it is absolute. Therefore, it is God who through His ministers provides training by Grace. Notice Titus 2:11-15.

Devotional: Most all of God’s children have a definition regarding the words – “The GRACE of God.” It is not my intention of adding confusion to what we already understand, but in recent study and meditation I thought about this. Like the Love of God, the Grace of God cannot be fully understood. Both attributes do not have a limit, these cannot be turned off or turned on by the will of man. Although God absolutely hates evil and will destroy it, when it comes to the evil and the resulting sin of it in man; God has covered man’s sin in the Blood of Christ for all of mankind.

This covering is realized by those who believe God’s grace “for grace you have been saved through (personal) faith, and that (grace) is not of yourself, it is (however) the gift of God – Ephesians 2:8. Also we ought to see that the wrath of God over sin and evil is lifted when “personal faith responds to the grace of God; John 3:18 and John 3:36.

So in closing, if it were not for the character of God who LOVES US and provides GRACE FOR US, salvation from sin and evil would not be possible. This salvation did not happen by chance, it has been and will always be available to all those who believe, to the Jew first (Praise God) and also to the gentile. Salvation by Grace, even from the foundation (forming) of the world – Ephesians 1:4. Warning: this same love and grace will stand as an insurmountable wall to all those who reject this truth. Revelation 13:8-9.

Comment: God our Creator maintains laws, precepts, statutes, commandments and judgments, to sustain His Creation. Physical Life, Spiritual Life and Eternal Life are REAL because His Laws are PERFECT, His Testimonies are SURE, His Statutes are RIGHT, His Commandments are PURE the fear of (and for) the LORD is UNDERSTANDING that God is unchanging as His Judgments are TRUE. Thus it is God’s favor to keep, protect and sustain His Creation. When we meditate on God through His Word and in the power of the Holy Spirit, the result will always be THANK YOU LORD. Yes there are many reasons to give thanks, but if that giving of thanks is not covered in the Blood of Christ and established in the Power of His bodily RESURRECTION it will not be ACCEPTABLE on this planet or in eternity.

 

Devotional: Dr. Thomas Constable in his commentary on Psalm 19, makes this statement. "I take this to be the greatest poem in the Psalter and one of the greatest lyrics in the world.". I totally agree, it is the ONE Psalm I visit regularly, the second would be Psalm 22, both penned by King David.

The heavens declare the glory of God; And the firmament shows His handiwork. 2 Day unto day utters speech, And night unto night reveals knowledge. 3 There is no speech nor language Where their voice is not heard. 4 Their line has gone out through all the earth, And their words to the end of the world. In them He has set a tabernacle for the sun, 5 Which is like a bridegroom coming out of his chamber, And rejoices like a strong man to run its race. 6 Its rising is from one end of heaven, And its circuit to the other end; And there is nothing hidden from its heat. 7 The law of the Lord is perfect, converting the soul; The testimony of the Lord is sure, making wise the simple; 8 The statutes of the Lord are right, rejoicing the heart; The commandment of the Lord is pure, enlightening the eyes; 9 The fear of the Lord is clean, enduring forever; The judgments of the Lord are true and righteous altogether. 10 More to be desired are they than gold, Yea, than much fine gold; Sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb. 11 Moreover by them Your servant is warned, And in keeping them there is great reward. 12 Who can understand his errors? Cleanse me from secret faults. 13 Keep back Your servant also from presumptuous sins; Let them not have dominion over me. Then I shall be blameless, And I shall be innocent of great transgression. 14 Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart Be acceptable in Your sight, O Lord, my strength and my Redeemer.

A Daily Devotional –Thanksgiving – The Eternal Word

Comment: As a people group and not as citizens of a great nation, we ought to LISTEN to our complaint. Now of course I do not mean to listen with respect to our lack of thankfulness, but we ought to listen as in the days since 1954 when President Eisenhower through Congress approval added two words and one capital letter to the “Pledge of Allegiance to the flag of the United States of America”. 

"I pledge allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America, and to the Republic for which it stands, one Nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all."

 

Devotional: The battle or the internal struggle to destroy the freedom of ‘life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness in our beloved nation can be seen in the struggle to keep our allegiance to the flag the United States pointed at; Thanksgiving” to God who keeps our nation free. The struggle is intense even to this very day. There are some who would be appeased if the words were change to, “many people groups under the gods” and there are others would be happy with the words; “a nation devided by the many”.

In fact, just writing about national allegiance and citizenship these days, angers many, since their direction is do what is right in their own eyes. Even many who claim a personal relationship with God seek their rights over what is TRUE. Well to all of us I simply say “In two days we will celebrate ‘Thanksgiving Day’. 

Should we toss this day to the gutter since Truth no longer matters? Many already have, yet there is a remnant that remains FAITHFUL to God and Country and we shall not we join the others! I understand that if you look at a battlefield such as this; “that is Wikipedia” or other current writings you will find reasonable arguments for both the pros and the cons regarding national ‘integrity’. Guess what? If you look and consider this ‘human viewpoint as truth’ you are the FOOL. Instead… we ought to believe God.

A study of Romans 13:1-14 is a good start and you might finish up your study with Ecclesiastes 8:1-17. Happy Thanksgiving to ALL and God bless your day.
