A Devotional Look at the Book #512

A Devotional Look at the Book #512

A Thought for today by Papa “J”
Deception is not readily noticeable; if it were it would not be called deception… now would it? Proverbs 26:18-19

A DAY IN THE PAST, THE PRESENT OR THE FUTURE
My father was a veteran of World War Two, he was an Army tank driver and by the time he reached fifty years of age he was given total disability for the torment associated with post traumatic stress. This condition was not diagnosed as it is today so he was not treated as our men and women are today. The torment drove him to drink continually and he made some very bad choices with a family he could not understand. I do not blame him, the country or any known or unknown element that caused him to suffer or caused us as his family to suffer. Here is the point! One man leads his family in good choices, he builds character and the reflection of that family on the community is delightful. Another man leads his family in bad choices, he destroys character and the reflection of that family in the community is not delightful. This is the two extremes of a pendulum; so this means that there are a lot of in-between families that need the same consideration. Here is the point! Proverbs 22:6 is that pendulum; one will train in righteousness and the other in unrighteous. Integrity, honor and success are not measured by the brave and the free; these things are measured by the one whom in humility of soul, fears the LORD. Therefore; know the LORD and FEAR Him, train your youngster in righteousness, not the self-righteous or selfish ways of the world, but in the Righteousness found by faith through the grace of God. Ephesians 2:5-10.
2 Peter
2 Peter 3:4 – So have you met anyone lately who is concerned about the promise of the LORD’s return? Believe it or not these people are all around you. This day in which we live is really no different than the day that the apostle Peter; under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit wrote these words of prophesy. Prophesy from God’s point of view is “current events”. Why? God does not live in time; therefore He does not require a schedule as we do.
2 Peter 3:5-6 – Since these folks willfully forget… did you get that? They willfully forget that the same heavens and earth they observe touch and know is the same that was of old and formed by the Word of God and not by any man made time line. It seems perfectly clear that water plays an important role in the substance of creation. Genesis 1:1-2 also it is clear that God destroyed the known world with water. There are biblical and historical records that teach us this truth.
2 Peter 3:7 – God has not changed His mind or His Word. The heavens and earth are being preserved by the same Word of God that created these elements of TIME. We observe the heavens with minds focused on time, we live on earth in time and we simply cannot go beyond the realm of TIME. You get IT? So it really does boil down to this. One day soon God will boil all of the water out of the heavens. The earth is being preserved for such a day and the TIME elements we observe touch and know will melt. God calls this day a day of judgment; the destruction of ungodly men, oh lest we forget… women too! Do you have a way of escape? John 3:34-36
