A Thought for the Day

 

Right and wrong, good and evil, discretion and dishonesty; these attributes are only found in humans. Animals are exempt! The disciplines of the day in which we live have fallen into the abyss of secular evolution, therefore our children and young people of today are wise, but the direction of that wisdom is not laced in the truth, that: “In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. Genesis 1:1 and Psalm 19:1-14.

 

Comments and challenges

 

The believer knows that the Bible is the Word of God, even more surely than he or she knows that they are alive. Now why would I make a statement like that if I had no proof? It is an historical fact that Jesus Christ died on a cross on a hill called Golgotha around the year 33AD. History also agrees that His disciples claimed that He rose again and was seen alive by many people and many infallible proofs. 1 Corinthians 15:1-8

 

So we have historical facts, but we also have the testimonies of his disciples and apostles, like that of the apostle John in 1 John 1:1-4 and that of Doctor Luke, another disciple who wrote the Gospel of Luke and the Book of Acts. So yes we have good records of the life of Christ who is the subject of the entire Word of God from Genesis to Revelation.

 

While history and records are good sources to believe, there are two more needed ways to know that the Bible is the Word of God, which are Faith and the Holy Spirit of God. Now I did, did you notice; capitalize the word “faith” so like all saints of God I believe in these additional factors of knowing that the Bible is the Word of God, even more surely that knowing life itself; are the added sources that all people need. That assistance is that of God who provides. 1 Corinthians 2:1-16

 

It is simple really! If I am an unbeliever I have no source of reference to have faith in God, not even the Bible simply because I do not read it. If I go to church I am not expressing faith in God, but I am demonstrating a belief in some form of religion or practice that may or may not have anything to do with the God of the Bible.

 

Now we all demonstrate faith and we all demonstrate a human spirit, but these human attributes are not sufficient for the Holy Bible, if we only use historical facts and human effort to seek and understand God and the Bible, then God will just be a word and the bible will just be the bible.

But when we come to know that the Bible is Holy and surely the Word of God and is more believable than life itself, we will express this Truth as it is; Holy and True. The Holy Bible of the Holy God who provides Holy Faith, through the Holy Spirit who dwells in all of God’s Holy Saints.
