A Thought for the Day – 039
Hating sin and loving the sinner is not a cliché; if
you know someone whose sins are in your face, it may be that this person has
not seen from you the love that covers a multitude of sin – Proverbs 10:12 and
1 Peter 4:7-11.
Comments and challenges
I was reading an article out of a Naval History magazine
about a skull that was found when a dredging operation in Hawaiian waters took
place last year. An analysis of the skull revealed that it was that of a
Japanese pilot from December 1941 where fifty five Japanese airmen of this
nation lost their life in the attack on Pearl Harbor. This number slips into
the realm of the obscure when the number of Americans is placed next to it; two
thousand four hundred servicemen of the United States died that day too.
Imagine if you will, that was seventy two years ago and
this span of time is a lifetime for all the children who were born to those men
and women who died that day and yet for someone the identity of this one skull
resting in the waters of the Hawaiian Isles for those years has brought closure
to a family in Japan. These are mainly made up of grandchildren and great
grandchildren. While this may seem insignificant to us today, it is however
more important than we might expect.
Today the casualties of another war on the United States
of America are still walking about and these men and women are completely
ignorant of the plans of the enemy. Like Pearl Harbor, all of the warnings were
ignored by the officials of our military and many of the officials of our
political make up then knew what was about to happen. These ignored and
promised peace. These folks knew the dangers but did nothing to prevent it.
Seventy five years from our current attack on our “Pearl
Harbor” or “Constitution” of our Nation has not officially started ticking off,
but I can safely say that America’s finest HOUR is about over. The enemy is
becoming stronger by the second and this is not a warning to you the reader and
I say that because you are not ignorant, otherwise you would not be reading
these daily devotionals. But here is what you and I can do. Last Wednesday we
listen to our Pastor speak of John 17 and the prayer of the LORD Jesus to His
father and this was my take-away from that.
God has given to all of us this Nation and He has given
us the authority to control the Nation. We the people on the other hand have
given that authority up and it is TIME to repent or change the direction of the
way we are going it is time that we reveal to God our ever increasing concern. In
prayer to the Father we need TO give back to God what He has given to us. He
alone is able to protect our Constitution, our children and our other precious
resources. Why do I say that? Because you and I are the casualties of this war,
we are losing the battle and there just may not be a future grandchild or great
grandchild to have closure. Proverbs 1: 10-33.
