The Devotional - 146 - Abnormal or Admirable

Thought of the Day – 146 – Abnormal or Admirable

Ecclesiastes 4:8-9 – If you see the oppression of the poor and the violent perversion of justice and righteousness in a province. Do not marvel at the matter, for high official watches over high official and higher officials are over them. Moreover the profit of the land is for all; the king himself is served from the field.

Comments and Challenges
A working system is one that has a safeguard at the lowest level of operation. Then as the system develops to potential there are other safeguards that govern progress. Finally as the system reaches peak performance there are additional safeguards to maintain operational integrity and economical production. With all safeguards in place and functioning well we would say from an observational platform that “the system” is functional or admirable.
If problems develop and production fails or integrity falls apart, where would we find the heart of the problem? Would it be mechanical, funding, the work force or management? Would we call a broken piece of equipment, abnormal; I do not think so… mechanical things break and is not abnormal but normal, so it is in the latter three areas where the safeguards should function. System failure; do we abort or mend or replace?
The high officials over the work force must be asleep on vacation or dysfunctional or in a less sensitive word “abnormal” if work stalls. What if production is falling off because of the high ranking “funding” officials? These officials are being paid but none can agree where to put what is left over for producing the “day old bread” or healthcare to assist the poor of the land.
As the results of additional abnormal conditions increase and more non-functional activity intensifies the viceroys over the system are found, playing golf, smoking and joking. Thus confirming that the fault is not totally the fault of the high ranking officials under them but the fault of the viceroys, who all along have controlled the pending outcome with the mentality of a dictator.
So the fault of the matter (if there is just one) is not with “programs or policies, promises or patrons” the fault is in the high officials who maintains the governing positions. These in the simplest terms I can think of are as replaceable as the broken or “burnt out” light bulb. Have you not sat as I have sat in an office or worked in a shop where the lighting has been near perfect, yet as time goes by bulbs burn out and goes unnoticed? That is until someone finally realizes; “Hey! We are working in the dark here!” it is time to re-lamp the entire building.
There is only one thing left to say, “Dead flies putrefy the perfumer’s ointment and cause it to give off a foul odor; so does a little folly to one respected for wisdom and honor, Ecclesiastes 10:1. Corruption is alive and well within the foul odors of a system where abnormal and dysfunctional are become the normal platform of daily operation.
Shame on you Mr. Viceroy and shame on all of you high ranking officials! You suppress what you know to be TRUE for the promotion of self-serving socialistic mandates to control people. We are not all mushrooms in the dark, until we are silenced we will SPEAK OUT. What good will this do? For one; we will first speak to God, the Creator of the Heavens and the earth and then we will speak bluntly to you.
Some would say that the following verse applies only to the physical nation of Israel, but first notice the verse “if My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land – 2 Chronicles 7:14.
Now notice the words of the apostle Paul – But it is not that the word of God has taken no effect. For they are not all Israel who are of Israel, nor are they all children because they are the seed of Abraham; but “In Isaac your seed shall be called”. You can read the rest of Romans 9:6-13 to get the full intention of the apostles’ exhortation. The Israel of God are the children of Promise.
