A Daily Devotional – Colossians – Personal Meditation (3)

A Daily Devotional – Colossians – Personal Meditation

Comment: We as children of God, that is; those who are, as the Holy Spirit reveals through the apostle Peter “begotten again” according to the Father’s abundant mercy, He has given us a “living hope”. (1Peter 1:3) In other words, if I sound confusing, I apologize, but my intent; even as it was yesterday, is to show that Christ is preeminent, not only in the corporate setting of church, but also in our personal walk of faith in Him. Throughout the epistles, and whether it is the apostle Paul, Peter or John, these men all agree, Christ is LORD, both in the church and in our personal soul. He is preeminent in time and eternity. For you and me to live in Him, that is to allow Him to sanctify us daily we must know His preeminence; that it is God’s will that we are to live in Him, just as He lives in us. See 2 Corinthians 3:7-18, we observe that the ‘glory’ of the New Covenant is Christ in us, verses 16-18.

Devotional: Colossians 1:9-18 – By faith; we are ‘begotten of God’ He has qualified us to be partakers of His inheritance. He alone has provided for us through faith in Him and there is no other offering we can offer, we are to believe Him and He will do the rest. God’s inheritance comes from Him alone through personal faith. And by faith we learn that Christ/Messiah is preeminent over all things. He is over the visible and the invisible. He Jesus is the image of the invisible God, there are several passages in the gospel of John revealing that Jesus Christ is God the Father, I have chosen this one (John 14:9), take a look!

Flesh and blood will not inherit the kingdom of God, (1 Corinthians 15:50) therefore; if this is true and it is, what should a child of God by faith in Christ seek to improve on? My flesh and my body is nailed to the cross and I bear it no more and so it is with everyone who is saved by the marvelous grace of God, yet we are made alive again; not in the flesh, but in our soul where Christ via the Holy Spirit lives, see again 2 Corinthians 3:16-18. Now we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus. We are, reborn for good works out of our soul, the flesh is dead. Galatians 2:20 and Galatians 5:24-26.

Colossians 1:16-18 – For by Him all things were created that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers. All things were created through Him and for Him. And He is before all things, and in Him all things consist. And He is the head of the body, the church, who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that in all things He may have the preeminence. As we will see tomorrow, this is the Will of God for all of His Children; we are to be reconciled to this truth. Christ in His preeminence LEADS the way.
