The Devotional – 1456 – The First question

The Devotional – 1456 – The First question
Proverbs 5:3-6 – For the lips of a strange person drip honey, the mouth is smoother than oil; but in the end their words are bitter as wormwood, sharp as a two-edged sword, the steps of the strange person lay hold of Sheol. If you choose to ponder that path of life; remember this, it is an unstable way and you do not know the end result.

Comments and challenges
We are having car problems this morning so the Devotional is not being produced in a timely manner. Please excuse this delay, also I may not finish it as first planned but will conclude it tomorrow. Thank you.
God used many to speak to us too like Solomon above. Like Moses, David, Isaiah, Jeremiah, Ezekiel, Jonah, Malachi, Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, Paul, Peter and Jude. I missed a few but you get the point, and you also know that God no longer speaks in the sense that He no longer has need to write and preserve HIS Word. Yet, God does speak to you and me daily, through His Word, He speaks clearly and if you answer His Question (He only has one), He will answer your questions of many. I qualify this first paragraph with the following words from Hebrews 1:1-4.

God, who at various times and in different ways spoke in time past to the fathers by the prophets, has in the LAST days spoken to us by HIS Son, who He has appointed heir of all things, through whom also He made the worlds; who being the brightness of His glory and the express image of His person, and upholding all things by the word of His Power, when He had by Himself purged our sins, sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high, having become so much better than the angels, as He has by inheritance obtained a more excellent name than they.

Now here is God’s ONE question: Genesis 3:9 – Then the LORD God called to Adam and said to him, “WHERE ARE YOU”? Daily, that question from God still rings loud and clear in the ears of every human being, we are all sons and daughters of Adam (Romans 5:12-14 and 1 Corinthians 15:20-22). Ignoring God is what we do, but know this that God does not ignore us. Whether we care to acknowledge this or not we are continually sought by God to respond to His question.

Until we come to agree with God and say like Adam, who said, “I heard your voice in the garden and I was afraid because I was naked; and I hid myself”. Yes until we agree with God and allow Him to cloth us in His Righteousness by faith in Christ, God is not obligated to answer the many questions we have about eternity.

As I said earlier I would like to spend time with this and will hopefully on Wednesday. I was all charged up with the thought of God’s first question to Adam, but because of the circumstance of my morning it is hard at the moment to put more thoughts on the paper. I was speaking with the pastor just a while back about the spiritual war we are in and the increase of conflict we all seem to be having. We live in exciting times, God has already won the battle and we can rejoice as we see Him in action as the Great Day of the LORD approaches. I tell you the truth, great tears of joy roll down our cheeks as God is so AWESOME to us who are called according to HIS purpose.
