The Devotional – 1031 – Foot steps in First Corinthians, ongoing
Do you know who a “cone-er” is? There is no need to add it to your dictionary but if you have ever served on a nuclear submarine and did not have a work station aft of the reactor you were called a cone-er. The point I wish to make is simple; the pride of the ship is the nuclear components and those who control and understand nuclear propulsion are the self-respected, or as they would tell you point blank: they are the glorious ones. Cone-ers are simply in the shadows, individuals who are less than important; yet and without them the working of the submarine would collapse if there were not forward compartment cone-ers.

Comments and Challenges:
1 Corinthians 4:6-13

There are days when I dislike writing… today is one of those days! The subject is hard and depressing and yet to be a discerner of the Word in front of me and one who loves the Word I am driven to keep going. I suppose I could skip over it, but that is the PROBLEM in the universal church of Christ these days, is it NOT in that much is “skipped over”!

In John 3:27 the apostle John speaking for John the Baptist says that a man can received NOTHING except that which is given to him by God and later in verse 30 of the same chapter the apostle states that John the Baptist also said that; He (God or godliness) must increase in us and self (our inner or natural man) must decrease.

The apostle Paul is not naïve of the Corinthian church even though he is physically absent. The report from Chloe’s household was not a small shot in the dark and as you read through 1st Corinthians, surely you might see that the apostle Paul has the report in front of him and is addressing each issue point by point. Some of the points he transfers in a figurative way to himself, but in reality it is the present leadership of the Corinthian church that is to be scolded and the apostle does make that clear.
The same condition of the church of the Corinthians can be found in Revelation 3:17, the church a Laodicea is judged by the LORD Jesus as a “lukewarm” church since it was puffed up with material riches and had become as a result spiritually poor. JUDGING one another instead of LOVING one another will do that to any church.

Many good children of God, some of them equipped by God to be good leaders are outside the church of God because the church has allowed sin to flourish within its walls. Shame on churches that do this. This is because we have shunned the New Testament writers to the point of disturbing the foundational doctrines of the Holy Word of God. We are rapidly replacing these for the doctrines of demons. 1 Timothy 4:1 while in the apostle’s day they shunned him personally and sought earnestly to replace him. Please take the time and read how he was treated as the filth of the world. Such a thing is upon the Truth today.
