The Devotional – 1041 – Foot steps in First Corinthians, ongoing

We are called and justified by God through the Blood of Christ. We are placed in God’s presence by the Lamb of God who has taken away the sin of the world, yet we live in the world and are tempted daily to participate in the mischief (OT – iniquity) or violence (NT – iniquity) generated by the system originated by Satan in the Garden of Eden. It is he who caused the human population of the Garden of Eden to violate the Command of God; that is to refrain from eating from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. The entire population of the Garden of Eden was ONE man and ONE woman. If these two were you and your wife you would have done just as Adam and Eve did. You have no one to blame and like all of us you stand GUILTY before the Creator of Heaven and earth, Romans 3:19; the context – Romans 3:9-20.

CHALLENGES & COMMENTS – 1 Corinthians 7:25-40

The violence and mischief of the world is ever increasing, even in the apostle’s day he viewed the condition of the world around him as critical even as we saints of God view the world around us at this time. We have serious thoughts of our children directing them to marry godly people and if we are grandparents we are praying too that our grandchildren will be spared some of the pending and dangerous violence associated with the current world around us. Marriage is a Divine eternal Covenant, not a man-made temporal promise.

I believe the picture in the apostle’s mind is somewhat the same as that of the apostle Peter who has much to say about husbands and wives in both of his epistles. Who reminds us that the world is speedily heading in the same destructive path as in the days of Noah; 1 Peter 3:1-17 and that the world around us is returning to those days as they were before the flood. All of which is due to the depravity and deception of false teaching (both secular and religious). It would be naïve for any believer in the LORD Jesus Christ to deny the mischief and violent conditions of the world today. 2 Peter 3:1-3.

The apostle Paul says plainly; there is no new commandment to write, and so the LORD Jesus in His mercy and through the His Spirit has made “trustworthy” the judgments of the writers of the New Testament. The most critical violation of man against God is disobedience to the Commands of God, secondly and thirdly is that of marriage and family and when marriage and family fail the government follows willfully along.

Marriage and family! Marriage and family is a Divine ordained (directive or command) of God. It is the stable institution or command of God to subdue the world; Genesis 2:1-25. The apostle Paul is saying that if you do not understand this: you should stay single, yet if you do not understand it and marry; learn this quickly that marriage is divinely ordered by God to be pure, or face the issues of life in pain and suffering because SIN is on the doorstep, Genesis 4:1-8, domestic violence.

The world attachments on family of mischief and violence are so profound that even commercials that offer goods and resources filled with the lust of mischief and the violence wrongful sacrifice. Daily doses of deception offered to the family, all designed to separate the oneness of ONE man for ONE woman. These are the same attachments that separates man from the Creator and man from his family and nation.

Yet in all of this I do not lose heart. Shall we not all agree with the apostle Paul? Romans 8:31-39. O give Thanks to the LORD, for He alone is God. Be a man and PRAISE God, be a woman and respond to God with PRAISE, be a family and eagerly PRAISE the ONENESS and unity of GOD and finally PRAISE God for the nation. Do not lose heart, the LORD is present to those who love Him, therefore GO. Matthew 28:18-20.
