A Daily Devotional – Ephesians – Personal Meditation (2)

A Daily Devotional – Ephesians – Personal Meditation

Comment: One third of the world’s population lives on less than two dollars per day. Another third live on less than fifty cents per day. The remaining one third do not know poverty. If there is poverty in these richer countries it is self-inflected through various patterns of life-styles.

There is another poverty! Not one of silver or gold, but one of the knowledge of God. Who knows? (Only God does), the number of human beings throughout the world who are saved by the grace of God through faith. Yet, if we could take a poll of those who are rich in grace and faith, we might just see that those who are the Spiritually rich in affluent countries and boast of their strength in monetary wealth, are poor; because of the improper uses of their physical wealth. While their physical wealth and strength are directed at doing good, their heavenly bank account of grace is idle, because they are ignorant in trusting God.

Devotional: So, what about my comment above! Does it make any sense to you? Where is your heart? Only you and the LORD GOD need to know the answer. If your heart/soul is “In Christ” the riches that God has already placed in your soul is available for your use immediately. A deposit of Spiritual wealth that the world cannot compete with is yours to use. Throughout this epistle the apostle Paul exhorts his readers in the power of the Holy Spirit, not only to consider what God has done, but also to USE/TRUST what God has done, which glorifies Him.

Remember what we said some time ago, that trust is the action word of faith, well let me add one more thought to this. Our hope is in God, He is our ‘confidence’, and not our human resources. Trust is putting our ‘feet of confidence in God’ our faith is walking where God is leading. He has given to us, all the spiritual resources to walk in the ‘new life’ in Christ. We cannot enjoy or effectively use the spiritual blessings given to us by God, if we ignore them and seek to fulfill God’s will by the revenues of the flesh.

Finally, blessed be the God and Father of our LORD Jesus Christ/Messiah, who has blessed us with EVERY spiritual blessing in the heavenly places (literally, heavenlies), in Christ. Ephesians 1:3-14 places our position as PERMANENT and He has SEALED us in the Holy Spirit and endowed us with gifts to use in our daily experience of our life in Christ. We will look deeper into this as we move through the epistle.
