A Daily Devotional – Various Scriptures – Personal Meditation (4)

Comment: Many believers live a distracted life, what I mean is that they are ‘out of focus’ the attraction of cellular phones, the world wide web, virtual reality equipment and the antiquated television, has wounded many saints by replacing godliness with a flesh driven lifestyle like that of the unbeliever. It really does not matter the age, there are many elderlies who are involved as well. Many of us ‘children of God’ have a hand (or two) in some of these distractions. We are as the unbelieving around us and part of the problem of the national decay this nation is experiencing. The flesh is our basic (natural) way of life, and if you are a child of God there is only ONE solution (seek godliness with contentment, 1 Timothy 6:3-10) which is the devotional message this morning.

Devotional: AND DO THIS (a command) knowing the time, (the time in which we live), that NOW it is high time to awake out of sleep; (we have over slept, it is high noon). For our salvation (glorification) is nearer than when we first believed. The night is far spent, (we’ve spent too much time being distracted by darkness) the day is at hand (we will give an account). Therefore, let us (each of us) cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armor of light (stop living in the flesh and live in the Spirit).

Walk as children of the light, properly (or decently) as in the day (as children of the Light). Not in revelry and drunkenness (worldly lifestyles), not in lewdness and lust (immoral conducts) and not in strife and envy (coveting and fighting). The youngest saint of God understands that the ways of the dark world we live in is WRONG, the sad thing is that these young believers watch their parents and decide this; “if it is okay for them, it must be okay for me too”! So, what are we to do? Should we stay asleep, or should we wake up? I am sure YOU know and have the answer.

The answer is – But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and MAKE NO PROVISION FOR THE FLESH, to fulfill (satisfy) its lusts (works); Romans 13:11-14 expanded.
