A Daily Devotional – Various Scriptures – Personal Meditation (10)

Comment: I tell you the truth in Christ, I am not lying, my conscience also bearing me witness in the Holy Spirit, that I have great sorrow and continual grief in my heart. Do these words sound familiar to you? If not! Then you do not know the Word of God (The Bible) as you ought too. Romans 9:1-2 the apostle Paul is grieved over his nation Israel and let me say, so please listen up! If you are not aware of these chapters (Romans 9 through 11) there is a good chance that you are unaware of times in which we live. I have a similar burden like that of the apostle since I am convinced that the Church of God in Christ/Messiah (at least here in the U.S.) is temporarily blind. Now the doctrinal truth of these chapters cannot be successfully taught and explained in this or any devotional your read daily, but if you allow the Holy Spirit to bear witness of God’s Plan of times and seasons, you will be a step or two closer; to our ultimate, eternal citizenship with Him.

Devotional: It is a fact, if you look at the nation Israel in these times you will see that it has rejected God. God adopted the nation as His own, He gave them covenants, revealed His glory and gave numerous promises. Through time and the fathers of this Israel; CHRIST/MESSIAH came. Christ is over all, He is the eternally blessed God. Because of this national rejection, God temporarily closed the book on Israel, but at this time the final chapter has not been written. Romans 11:1-36 is not the final chapter, but without a doubt proves that there is a future for Israel.

Romans 10 is a chapter in God’s Word that we Gentiles use to present the gospel to those who are without Christ, but if you are a student (disciple) of the Word, you will understand that Paul is exhorting that his nation (Israel NEEDS the gospel). They (the Israelites) are ignorant of God’s Righteousness, they seek to establish their own righteousness, thus they have not submitted themselves to the Righteousness of God. In a very same manner, the Church today in the U.S. seeks to establish it’s righteousness apart from the gospel. This is troubling, but true.

Christ is the END OF THE LAW FOR RIGHTEOUSNESS TO ALL WHO BELIEVE, to the Jew FIRST and also to the GENTILE. The Jews rejected their Messiah when they along with the gentiles (Romans) and hung HIM on the cross. And today in churches all across this NATION, churches reject Jesus because they have forgotten the gospel, to confess Him as LORD (Messiah). The church nationwide fails in their heart to believe and confess GOD's plan. (Christ’s death and resurrection) this is the all sufficient work (plan) that pleases God for all to believe.

This confession is not HEARD in many churches these days, so how can the current message of “love God and go to work for Him” work if there is no gospel preach? Are we not then, like Israel who have replaced the Righteousness of Christ with our own self-righteous works? I could be thought of as wrong here; even by some covenant believing friends, but I rest in the truth that God will reveal His Righteousness very soon.
