The Devotional
Comment: While serving in the military,
personnel are subject to change. What I mean is that many of the regulation manuals
used to lead, guide and direct the military incur “pen and ink” changes
monthly. Sometimes regulations are so completely changed that the entire
article is rewritten. A law, a judgment or a statute the day before becomes
obsolete the next. To give examples would be to reveal some (if not all) of the
increased evil (decay) of our day in which we live. Now understand, I am not speaking
of the decay of Creation, (even though cursed) Creation is still very beautiful
to behold. I am speaking of the decay of wisdom and knowledge in the hearts of
men, women and children whose eyes fail to see that God’s Word does not change.
Psalm 119:89; by the way this is one of the many wonderful things about the
Living Word of God… His Word, just like Him does not CHANGE; Hebrews 13:8.
Devotional: Psalm 119:81-88 – There are days in
our lives when trials or temptations seek to control our mind. If this has not
happened to you, you might need to check your pulse. In our devotions each day
our spirit agrees with the Spirit of God that we are God’s children and we
rejoice in the confidence of being redeemed (Psalm 107:1-3). As our day begins
(bringing in the sheaves, we go rejoicing). However, it is not long before our “soul”
begins to faint for God’s comfort and deliverance.
I am
convinced that in the course of every three hours of the day, that there is
enough evil experience to send us searching our mind for a Word from our God
and Savior. We seek His comfort and often ask Him, when will you comfort me in
this present moment? Sometimes the event is long lasting, yet His comfort is
immediate when we cling to His Word, in this we can endure. In the midst of
trouble, God is a very present help, Psalm 46:1-11.
Trials and
persecution go hand in hand, yet, ones’ faith and the Word of God also go hand
in hand. No one I know likes to be persecuted or tempted to give up. Yet, we walk
about in a world of dead end streets full of dark potholes dug by the proud and
evil of heart. Do not give in, maybe it is the proud and evil heart of someone known
and loved, who will respond to God’s love.
The scorn of
the unfaithful are the obstacles (smoke screen) that we travel through daily,
we need to remember that we do not walk about without LIGHT. We have the Light
of Christ in us, while those whom we meet up with love the darkness (John 3:19,
also see John 1:1-3). Be ready to share the LIGHT, God has called and redeemed us
for just such a thing as this.
