A Daily Devotional – Psalm 119:41-48 – Personal Meditation
Comment: Would you not agree? God never
fails! As the psalmist of Psalm 119 explains in verse 41. The Mercy of the LORD
is His unfailing love for His Creation. By the way, do we set aside His Words
and say that we are not a part of His Creation. There is no salvation in
thoughts like this, yet time and time again we witness people (His children)
who become misguided by the persuasive words of false doctrines. False
doctrines taunt the children of God, causing confusion and every evil thing
that presents itself above the Wisdom and Knowledge revealed in Creation through
His Word.
Devotional: I
do not have a lot of time this morning, so might I suggest that we read and
meditate on this section of Psalm 119. (Well
I was not able to get the devotional completed and had to leave, but now I am
back). We are reproached daily and if we fail to have an answer for those
who reproach us, we will not be the witness of God’s statutes as He desires. So
prayer and meditation is not a suggestion, it is a mandatory need for the
children of God, for those who trust in the LORD.
If we fail at this, our study of scripture will also
fail and His word will not be in our mouth when it needs to be there. While our
hope in God may never cease, we might allow it to fail or even fade from our
daily walk and this is primarily due to our lack of prayer, meditation and
study. To be a strong witnesses of God as the psalmist says, His Word should be
“forever and ever fixed in our soul, then we will not be ashamed”; in time or
eternity.
To live humbly before God and man is the duty and bond
of love for God, for His Creation and His commands, for His laws, precepts,
statutes and so forth. Do not toss aside these foundations of Truth and stray
into the path of false teaching which is deceit. Put away false teaching
immediately when you perceive it, it is as dross and will be burned up at the
judgment seat of Christ. If you are involved in false teaching, you should
tremble since God will judge this.
