The Devotional - A Look at the Book #624

The Devotional – A Look at the Book #624
Papa “J” May Say
Sometimes we believe that we have the answer to a problem only to find out that we are the problem. One look in the mirror may solve the problem! James 1:21-27
Thoughts about Life
Honesty in the things we do in life is not a relative matter, but an absolute standard. Many absolute standards are lost today; even among those who claim faith in our LORD and Savior Jesus Christ. Here is the rub! Ephesians 6:14 we children of God are commanded to put on as a first piece of defense; a waist belt of “absolute truth” Ephesians 6:10 and 11 are not idle thoughts from the apostle that suggest that we put on these items; but are commands to do so. I am a little fired up this morning simply because we are called saints in scripture, but when it comes to establishing that standard of obedience and righteousness in ministry… absolute standards like the girdle of truth are purposely loosened and our defense of the gospel falls down around our ankles.. It seems that we believe what we want without regard to the harm we may do when we take what we hear and twist it in some way to argue our agenda over the needs of others. Any ministry we involve ourselves in needs the full armor and protection that God provides. If truth is placed on the side line, how will those whom we are to gain approval from see that our good works of Ephesians 2:10 are shod in the gospel of peace? Ephesians 6:15.
Ecclesiastes 8
Verses 3 – I cannot say that all of us like those down to earth people like Solomon, he simply tells us; like it is and his counsel is rather absolute, do it or face the consequences of our obstinate actions. Daily I see people hide from the boss when he comes through for his daily inspections. They would rather take their chances standing in the dark corner thinking evil of management rather than sharing their thoughts openly and improving things.
Verse 4-5 – The word of a king, manager or boss has weight and while we cannot blatantly say; “what are you doing?” we can wait for him or her to say to us; “so, what are YOU doing? In this context we are keeping the command of protocol and there will not be an opportunity of harm to experience. In government or on the job we tend to run our mouth, rather than the equipment at hand and in doing so we reveal our heart to listening ears judgment or retribution follows.
Verse 6-7 – The pendulum of justice is always in motion and those who are guilty will gather more misery as they wait for the inevitable moment of judgment. There will be no excuse at that moment, or at the pending White Throne judgment as all decisions of the justice of God are final. The truth; even the master over the house has no clue of the day or hour of judgment. Matthew 24:36-44.
