The Devotional – Unchangeable Truth

The Devotional – Unchangeable Truth

Comment: Innocence, a quality of human life that does not exist! Even for the infant who departs the womb and enters the world. Innocence is assumed righteousness and the Holy Bible makes this infallible statement. “There is none righteous, no not one; there is none who understands; there is none who seeks after God. They have all turned aside; they have together become unprofitable; there is no none who does good, no, not one.” (Romans 3:10:12 and Psalm 53:1-3); People who reject this Truth are said to be FOOLS because they deny the existence of God. Thus their heart is corrupted, it is a sin of iniquity in the sight of God, even abominable; or an abnormal condition of the soul!

Devotional: Most people do not give thought to God, do not meditate and do not know anything about eternity. Personally, each of us will give an account of our time on earth and so each of us are responsible. We waste our lives for that which is temporal, in other words the things that we do, do not have eternal quality. What is done by us daily cannot be repeated tomorrow, or even more critical, once all of our breaths are taken, there is no recovery.

The LORD Jesus expresses this point and we find His comments in Matthew 5 through 7. This morning if you have the time read these three chapters which are directed at living a happy and joyful life in this temporary world we live in the flesh. It is noteworthy that in the middle of His conversation to those who are listening; He says this. “But seek first the kingdom of God and His Righteousness and all these things will be added to you”, Matthew 6:33.

You will need to read, Matthew 5 - 7 but it all boils down to living in the Righteousness of Jesus Christ (Romans 13:14), then and only then will you be righteous (Innocent) in the sight of God who created you for this very purpose, to meditate (contemplate) Him thoughout the day.

The Devotional – Excerpts from the Gospel of John (6a)

The Devotional – Excerpts from the Gospel of John (6)

Comment: We ended this paragraph yesterday with “Even so; Come LORD Jesus” today we will look at the LAMB of God through the text of God’s Holy Word in John 1:29-34, and various other scripture. Sacrifice is one of those words we fail to understand, in addition to that; it is hard for us to imagine how God could allow such an event to happen to His only ‘begotten’ Son. None of us are worthy, not one of us understand, we are all alike since we do not seek after God. We are as the apostle Paul says in Romans 3:10-18; we all have sinned and fall short of God’s glory. Sacrifice or sin or are foreign thoughts in our mind. Yet, when God who seeks us out and justifies us as He did with Abraham and we believe, God imputes His Righteousness to us. This may be the only ‘miracle’ we ever experience; but if you have not yet had that experience, then please look to the God’s sacrifice; the LAMB. See Roman 4:7-8.

Devotional: “Behold! The LAMB of God who takes away the sin of the world!” John the Baptist sole purpose in life was to proclaim Jesus/Messiah to the Jewish nation. The nation was looking for a king, not a sacrificial LAMB. A lamb as they understood was a routine sacrifice, millions of these animals had been a substitionary covering for the sins of the people for the last 2,000 years. Now here is John’s message about a Man, who would not only take away their sin, but also the sin of the whole world. A permanent solution to crush man’s desire to live in darkness; John 3:19 and Genesis 3:15.

This devotional is revised from last Thursday, I re-read what I wrote and did not like some of the wording.

John 3:29-34 – There is plenty of evidence in the Holy Bible that many of those in Judea were waiting for the Messiah. They were looking for Messiah to set up His kingdom on earth, yet when He does come, He comes to them; FIRST (advent) as a gift from God, a permanent sacrifice for their sin and the sin of the entire world. The SECOND (advent) of Christ/Messiah is yet future, we are in the gospel of John in the first advent as the LAMB who was slain.

Jesus was not slain by the heart of man’s desire; He was not a sacrifice because some Jewish High Priest changed the atoning methods of the Law. Before sin entered man’s heart to kill his brother and before the Law was given to Moses; God foreordained the sacrifice of His Son, see 1 Peter 1:13-21. The Plan of God regarding the sacrifice of Christ/Messiah was approved by God before the foundation of the earth was laid. Thus all of mankind is accountable to God, even those who reject this truth. Revelation 13:8-9.

There is no excuse for disregarding this truth, while certain events are hidden from both the Old Testament saints and the New Testament saints the Truth of the LAMB of God is plainly preached, taught and proclaimed in both Testaments. In the Old Testament. You see, the death of Christ/Messiah fulfills the will of God to rescue mankind from Satan’s domain of darkness; Hebrews 10:5-18 and Psalm 40:6-8. Also see Isaiah 53:1-12; especially see Isaiah 53:10. This now brings us back to John 1:29-34. The LAMB is Jesus who is the only begotten “foreordained” Son of the Living God. He the Christ/Messiah of God is the only one who takes away the sin of the world and John the Baptizer gives true testimony of this. All one needs to do is “by personal faith, believe the TRUTH.”

The Devotional – Excerpts from the Gospel of John (6)

Comment: We ended this paragraph yesterday with “Even so; Come LORD Jesus” today we will look at the LAMB of God through the text of God’s Holy Word in John 1:29-34, Revelation 5:6-14 and 1:2:24. Sacrifice is one of those words we fail to understand, in addition to that; it is hard for us to imagine how God our Father could allow such an event to happen to His only ‘begotten’ Son. None of us are worthy, none of us understand, we are all alike since none of us really seek after God as the apostle Paul says in Romans 3:10-18. Sin and Sacrifice are the furthest thoughts from our being.

The nation was looking for a king, but not a LAMB. The LAMB they understood was a routine sacrifice over the last 2,000 years, millions of these animals had been a substitionary covering for the sins of the people. Now here is John’s message about an obscure Person, who would not only take away their sin, but also the sin of the whole world. A permanent solution to man’s desire to live in darkness; John 3:19.

My message is short this morning since I have two events, one has past and another is a half hour from now. I will pick this thought up again on Monday, in the meantime; Revelation 5:8-14 reveals that the LAMB of God is WORTHY, He was slain for your sin and mine. Yes, BUT now with the scroll and the seven seals to open He is the Lion of Judah. The King of kings and the LORD of lords. Blessing and honor and glory and power is His, He now sits on the Throne, the LAMB… forever and ever. And like the four living creatures we shout “AMEN.”
