The Devotional – 1425 – Be Attitude

The Devotional – 1425 – Be Attitude

Proverbs 21:13 – Whoever stopped his ears at the cry of the poor, he also shall cry himself, but shall not be heard.

 Comments and challenges

How often do people begin a conversation with another, only to find that the other person is not really paying attention? “Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted…; Matthew 5:3-12.

The daily opportunities for believers in Jesus Christ the Son of the Living God to provide a view of the kingdom of heaven to the world around them are endless. And I am sure this is what the apostle Peter gives counsel to here in 1 Peter 3:15 when he writes – But sanctify the LORD God in your hearts, and always give a defense to everyone who asks you a reason for the hope that is in you, with meekness and fear.

There are far too many times that I hear the saints of God say; “you know, just the other day I had an opportunity to help someone who was “poor in spirit” but I chose to move on because of this or that reason”. Today we are distracted believers in Jesus Christ. Opportunities are all around and as serious as I can be at this moment; Jesus through the power of the Holy Spirit says to our spirit.

“You are the salt of the earth; but if the salt loses its flavor, how shall (it) ((the poor, the mourning; etc.)) be seasoned?” the salt then is good for nothing but to be thrown out and trampled underfoot by others” “you are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house”. “Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven” Matthew 5:13-16.

A small story… there are recent events that brings me to these convictions. Those close to me are actively involved in living out Matthew 5:1-12 and then in my own personal walk with the LORD we are rehearsing for an Easter Presentation of “HE’S RISEN” in preparing for this event like most of us I am listening to the presentation on a CD, the music and the narration.

An every time I go through the entire disc in one sitting I come away thinking… “Christian… you are missing the boat!” Now it is not the songs and hymns in the presentation that grip my heart although these can move me as well, it is the narrations of the disciples of Jesus and the women whom He made whole. These members of the Body of Christ lived in awe in the power of His Presence. They had firsthand witness to everything He did.

The accounts of the “Gospel of Jesus Christ” from His Birth to His Resurrection in the gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke and John are not only truth for you and me to know but these are accounts that should daily remind His Church on earth today that… “The Kingdom of Heaven is at HAND”. We daily; should be so focused on being a “light” to the dark world around us that when the moment is passing, you hear those who see your good works glorifying your Father in heaven.

Folks these things do happen daily… we are eye witnesses of the world around us and of the death and resurrection of our Savor; we have the same testimony as that of His disciples and the apostle John confirms this in 1 John 1:1-4. Do not let the world and the demonic forces around you claim you as a, causality. 1 John 1:4 – And these things we write to you that your joy may be full.
