The Devotional - USA01

The Devotional

Comment:
Reviewing books and epistles of the Living Word of God is and has been a joyful event in time each morning for me. Later if the LORD tarries I may return to this form of devotional writing. However these days I am increasingly aware of our national heritage, freedom and you and me as citizens of this land from coast to coast. First let me say that we are privileged to be citizens of one of the richest lands on the planet. I love the United States of America and as the song goes, “I am proud to be an American!” Yet in that statement lies the trouble as it should read, “I am proud to be a Citizen of the United States of America!” Until being satisfied with completing my burden over the USA I will continue to lament over our land that is untarnished in riches. However untarnished, yet tarnished with unprincipled men and women who for the sake of self-righteousness, have purposely ignored the Creator God to push this nation to the brink of decay. Decay like that of an apple or orange left to rot and finally implode!

Challenge: Various Scripture
Life! I have not met but a very few people who have not loved living! And even those who bark at being alive are very protective at staying alive. Yes I know that people commit suicide, but these people are tarnished by a society that has no plan or purpose for the future, and if you do not know it, the social climate of the nation is bad news for those who in one moment in time, willingly give up life for fear of facing tomorrow.

A quote from Wike-pedia – Suicide is the 10th leading cause of death in the United States. According to the Centers for Disease Control, in the United States as of 2010, more people died of suicide than in car accidents. In 2010, the total number of suicide deaths in the United States was 38,364. Historically, suicide rates rise during times of financial stress and economic setbacks. “I want us to see that the Centers for Disease Control published this report!”

The Second Commandment of God is: “You shall have no other gods before Me” Someone is saying, “Well I’ll do you one better, I have no gods including The God of the Bible”. These highlighted words are insufficient for the Second Commandment of God, yet it is all that is or was taught in times past. Here is the Commandment in full – “You shall have no other gods before Me, you shall not make for yourself a carved image – any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that of earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth, you shall not bow down to them nor serve them. For I, the LORD your God, am a jealous God. Visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children to the third and fourth generations of those who hate me, but showing mercy to thousands, to those who love Me and keep My commandments – Exodus 20:3-6.

Purpose in living life is found in the Commandments of God, we will be searching these over and over again for the next few days. It is my hope and prayer that many will see that God is not a killer or a destroyer of life; however mankind who are bent in doing evil which someone has said; “just what is evil, show it to me and I will seek to not be involved in it”. My answer – “go take a long and serious look in the mirror!” What we do and act upon as self-righteousness is evil. If you are lawless, you are clueless to the Law of God which are His commandments – 1 John 3:4-9, we will pick up on this thought tomorrow, if the LORD tarries!
