The Devotional - 147 - A Deserted Place

The Devotional – 147 – A Deserted Place

Psalm 119:138  The word of the LORD is full of Lovingkindness, surrounded by testimonies and commandments. The men and women who have learned to trust Him have found His Word, completely faithful!

Comments and Challenges

Events of life for all of us have a time and place. I think that as we grow older that God allows us to remember past events in order that we might share them with younger people. Much of this kind of training has gone by the wayside. The Old Testament is loaded with examples of teaching the younger generation by example through the family values of life. Life without faith and tradition is a life without purpose and direction, Proverbs 3:1-4.

Today we face a crisis in the American and there are few people who even care. We are overrun with by people who live here illegally and who have but one purpose – self-gratification. Many (not all) are here to rob us of our freedom and change our way of life. It matters little where you go these days, two out of five people you encounter, speak another language and one out of six of those are in the United States illegally.

Our faith in God is vanishing with the wind and our traditional values of life and freedom are given away, we have become complacent over our national “grassroots”. It is as if our roots are being eaten by the grubs of the neighbor, while other nations from afar are uprooting our once strong base; (Belief in God) by international moles of terrorism. In other words, we have become a nation of weak minded dotes.

Leviticus 26:1-45 – The Words of God Himself as He spoke through Moses to the people of Israel (Blessing and Retribution). Blessing if the nation walked faithfully with God’s lead and Retribution if they walked in unfaithfulness to God; some will conclude that Leviticus 26 applies to Israel “only” and I say “Bah Humbug” the Holy Bible is written to the Jew first and then to the gentile. Romans 1:16-17. Any nation who is faithful to The God of the Holy Bible is a candidate for Leviticus 26.

Mark 6:30-44

Many people today in our nation are scattered, oh I do not mean that we have no personal goals or ambitions; but I do mean that as a nation there are no spiritual ambitions and little interest in religion. Yet again there are factions of people who are called “the faithful” like the Catholic and Islam religions and both of these are deep rooted in immoral behavior on the one hand and terroristic behavior on the other.

The rest of our nation is like one who is mal-nutrition, starving for spiritual food and drink and as I think on this I am reminded by the writer Mark and the other gospel writers that Jesus fed the five thousand. Mark says in verse 34. “And Jesus, when he came out, saw a great multitude and was moved with compassion for them, because they were like sheep not having a shepherd. So He began to teach them many things.

Our nation today is STARVING to be taught the things of God; more than 800,000 people went from a well-paying work of service to this country to a “form” called the “Application for Unemployment” truly the focus of this is on the governmental issues of a crumbling nation, but the real heart of the matter is found in the mentality of the disciples of Jesus. “The hour is late and the area is deserted so send them away” Mark 6:35-36.

Now is this the answer that God (Jesus) expected? His response “Give them something to eat” in other words; Mr. Christian, how much Spiritual food do you have? Go and see! You start feeding them and I (Jesus) will take up the slack and you will have left-overs for another day. Yes the United States of America has problems, but these are not impossible to solve. That is; if we the remnant of those who believe in Jesus begin to “Stand up for Jesus”

Mark 6:41 – And when He had taken the five loves and the two fish, He looked up to heaven, blessed and broke the loaves, and gave these to His disciples to set before the people; and the two fish He divided among them all. So they ate and were filled. And they took up twelve baskets full of fragments and of the fish (leftovers). Those who had eaten the loaves were about five thousand men. (not counting the women and children so this would be closer to twelve thousand people).
