The Devotional - 28

The Devotional

Comment:
Many saints do not take the time to view life on two platforms. Okay so what do I mean in that statement? No child of God will disagree that in order to be a child of God he or she must be born of God that is from above or as Jesus related to a man named Nicodemus; born again in the gospel of John. Once we understand that we are a child by natural birth and become a child by spiritual birth, we ought to seek to live in this manner of love that God has provided thru the second birth. There is much scripture that speaks of kingdom of God and the kingdom of man and we are required of our Father to know both kingdoms in order to give answer to anyone who asks us of this duel understanding of hope, see John 3:21. In the various versions of the Holy Bible there are over 20 verses providing wisdom regarding the “hope” we ought to have in our new birth in Christ. When we fail to witness this hope to others, it is deferred and it makes us spiritually ill, Proverbs 13:12. Note as well the other side of this Proverb, there is a longing in our soul to fulfill this hope, therefore we must know how to live spiritually as a child of God as these two platforms fight for control; Romans 7:7-25.

Challenge: Job 1:6-22
It is very alarming that in a matter of hours, life as we live it can be changed. If you step aside for just a brief moment and look, you will see that we like the man Job are the objects of a spiritual war. Some of us may think that the LORD God and Satan are simply pals and that the conversation they participate in are meaningless to them, but we should look first at the meeting and the conversation.

The presence of Satan in heaven is not the choice of Satan, he and all of God’s created angels are commanded by the LORD God to present themselves before the LORD. They were at the time of Job’s life on earth to give account of their existence. The LORD God commanded Satan to explain his whereabouts. Satan’s reply, while truthful is hostile, there is no detail, only a brief reply. God in turn looks for a bit of detail.

Job is an “outstanding” person on the earth and Satan is well aware of Job. God already knows that Satan would like to destroy Job and while he has the power to do so, he can do nothing unless God gives the okay. I believe that Satan is so deceiving that even at the Throne of God, he seeks to cause God to sin against His own Character. And we say, well it is impossible for God to sin so how useless is that? It is useless, but not to Satan who desires to be like God and be worshipped like God. Isaiah 14:13-19 and Matthew 4:1-11.

This conversation between God and Satan begins one of the strongest tests that human beings can face, death would be a relief for the man. Note that all of this happened in ONE day to Job. He lost his wealth, his workforce and apart from his wife, his entire family. God pulled back His watch care over Job to prove one thing, not necessarily to Satan, but to prove that Job’s integrity was pure. That Job did not fear the loss of fortune or family, he instead by faith feared God. Job was overheard by God and Satan speak these words. “Naked I came from my mother’s womb, and naked I will depart. The LORD gave and the LORD has taken away; may the name of the LORD be praised.”

In this statement Job did not charge God to be at fault as some might believe. Yet there are many who think like the devil and word suffering in this way. “Naked I came, naked I will leave and cursed is the name of God.” It is what Satan was hoping for, he did not get it and he is not finished accusing.
