There are many corn fields in the United States of America,
if you have traveled across the U.S. by automobile you are a witness to this
wonderful sight. Yes these are man-made, yet these are also beautiful portions
and plans of the Majesty of God. Beginning in the first chapter of Genesis we
see the plans that God has for man; Genesis 1:26-31, and looking in chapter 2
we can read in verse 15: Then the LORD God took man and placed him in the Garden
of Eden to tend (literally to cultivated) and keep it. Thus when the fields are
white in early fall of time, it is time to harvest. So in this, the design of the farmer
and the beauty of our countryside reveal God and
His Perfect Plan. Just what is the Perfect Will of God? 2 Peter 3:9 – the Lord
is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is long
suffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should
come to repentance. Therefore the field of mankind is always ready for harvest,
so what must you do to be harvested into God’s kingdom? Believe on the LORD
Jesus Christ and you will be harvested – Acts 16:31.
Challenge:
John 4:27-38 – After returning from the city the
disciples of Jesus find it interesting that He is talking with this Samaritan
woman, actually they are critical among themselves about this, but none of them
asked why and not one of them spoke directly to Him saying; “what do you seek,
or why are you talking with her?” Now Jesus had already spoken to the woman
about fetching her husband, but it is not this request that caused her to leave
her water pot behind and go back into the city.
If you have been saved by the grace of God, then you have
experienced the JOY of that moment. When I was saved, I was so excited that I literally
wanted to run through the local streets of where I was and shout it out. Being
redeemed by the Blood of the LAMB is an experience that no one knows except
those who are redeemed. This then, is the reason why the woman took off for the city,
notice where she went! She went to the gate of the city where the men hung out.
Merchants, farmers and others could be found at the gate of the city in those days.
While this is going on, the disciples of Jesus are urging
Him to eat, but His reply confuses them. “I have food to eat which you do not
know!” Now what if you were sent out by your supervisor at work to get lunch
and when you returned he or she said to you, “I am not hungry I have other food
to eat!” His disciple say again among themselves, “has anyone brought Him
anything to eat?” They did not ask Him, but overhearing He answers them.
“My food is to do the will of Him who sent Me, and to finish
His work. God created man and planted (if you will) him in the Garden, when
mankind failed and sinned against God, the field of mankind became dark and
dead with SIN. Christ came into the world to reconcile man back to God and
Jesus is that reconciliation for those who believe in Him. He is the Sacrifice for the sin
of the world. John 1:29b – Behold the LAMB of God who takes away the sin of the
world.
Notice the words of Jesus in John 4:37 – For this the saying
is true ‘One sows and Another reaps’ I see this as God the Father planted the field
which is now ready for harvest and Jesus Christ the LAMB is the One who gathers
in the harvest of all who will call upon the HIM to be saved.
