A Daily Devotional – James, the Epistle – Personal Meditation (12)

A Daily Devotional – James, the Epistle – Personal Meditation

Comment: Have you ever thought of it this way? James says “Do not speak evil of one another, brethren. He who speaks evil of a brother and judges his brother, speaks evil of the law and judges the law. But if you judge the law, you are not a doer of the law but a judge”. We never think of the strict consequence of judging as Jesus, Himself has said in Matthew 7:1-6 “Hypocrite! First remove the “plank” from your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the “speck” from your brother’s eye”. Verse 5; speaks loud and clear that he who judges another will reap a whirlwind of trouble because they have taken their ‘holy conduct’ and placed it in the clutches of ridicule; verse 6!

Devotional: James 4:12 – There is but ONE lawgiver, there is only ONE judge. This ONE is able to SAVE and to DESTROY. If you are not HIM (and you are not) the only part of this statement that you are able to accomplish is to DESTROY! Truly this not hard for any of us to understand; yet, in almost every church meeting, either before the meeting or after we run into people who already have judged the speaker or will judge them. Anything you or I may have understood about the anticipate service or wisdom of the service is destroyed.

Time is short this morning, lots to do. So, we will pick up the remainder of chapter four on Monday, in the meantime, pray for the peace of Israel, who is the coming Messiah. Also, pray for this country, it’s present leadership and for the Church of the LORD JESUS. Without these three, we have no country or freedom.
