The Devotional - A Look at the Book #799

A Word from Papa “J”
 
In forty four days the people of the United States of America will be “Called Out” that is they will be summoned to vote for life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness and nothing more.
 
GOOD MORNING MY FELLOW AMERICANS
 
We the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the Untied of America.
 
How I would like to go through each of the seven articles and twenty seven amendments of the Constitution of the United States of America and relate to it as I might in the Word of the Living God. Since I am not equipped with the wisdom and knowledge of this Masterpiece of Freedom and Liberty I cannot and see a gapping failure. A fault if you will; not only in myself but also in the majority; our countrymen who claim this country as their own native or adopted homeland.
 
Just to understand the Constitution of the United States seems like a momentous task and I am sorry, but I feel too old to tackle it; yet I will begin. But then I think to myself. This is a hopeless task; isn't it already too late. I mean just look around. With tears in my eyes and pain in my heart; like you, I see the selfish, the ignorant, the innocent, the needy and America the unbeautiful.
 
In Romans 13:1-10 the apostle Paul discusses the potential of living peacefully with government and neighbor. Basically he states that God calls us to live with government under the prevailing constitution of that nation because the government is God’s minister for good and not evil. His exhortation does not end with submission to government, but he also exhorts his readers to establish a peaceful relationship with their neighbors and fellow countrymen.
 
Now you know that this is not the end of the chapter, but for now, these ten verses will do until we will pick up the third section at the end of this, say sometime near November 02, 2012 should God allow. So from now until then, I hope to challenge us regarding the matter, or lack of it in our grey matter.
 
I feel that I am a man who has not thought much about liberty and justice, but in these later days I see that both liberty and justice demand a high cost. The cost is FREEDOM. You either have it or you DO NOT! And if you do not have it, then like all of us you have spent your freedom IN IGNORANCE by IGNORING GOD and His Will. 1 Peter 2:13-17.
