The Devotional - 1061 - The Event, Eternal

The Devotional – 1061 – The Event, Eternal
Once in a while I remember racing through the alleyways. In the city where I grew up (Louisville, KY) there were plenty of alleys that ran parallel to the streets. These roads were mainly for the trash collectors, the “rag man” and several other service oriented providers. As a young boy growing up I found that the alleyways were a means of getting from point to point, without a lot of traffic and people. The last time I visited my hometown, it was necessary for me to go down some of the alleys, otherwise I would have gotten lost on the main roads. These days I am very aware that the main roads of living life are leading many to destruction. Yes the “narrow way” is better (Matthew 7:13-14)

CHALLENGES & COMMENTS – Various Peeps of Time and Eternity

Awesome! The Holy Word of God, we call His Written Word the Holy Bible!
Yesterday we left the events of the life of Jesus of Nazareth at the sight of the crucifixion, the hill where He (Jesus) looked at His mother and said, “Behold your son” speaking of His friend and disciple, John and then He said to John, “behold your mother” and from that point in time… John took the mother of Jesus into his home and Jesus knowing that His time of physical life was ending. He willing gave it up as the Lamb of God who takes away the SIN of the world. He said… “IT IS FINISHED!” and He willingly laid His life (His human spirit) into the Hands of His Father. One of these days sooner than you think, you and I will have to give up our human spirit. Most likely for many it will not be WILLINGLY because they have travelled the wide gate that leads to destruction. But for those of us who enter the narrow gate we will lay our life down willingly. Go ahead now and ask the question! WHY?

Matthew 28:1-10 – The narrow way of TRUTH in TIME
1 Now after the Sabbath, as the first day of the week began to dawn, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary came to see the tomb. 2 And behold, there was a great earthquake; for an angel of the Lord descended from heaven, and came and rolled back the stone from the door, and sat on it. 3 His countenance was like lightning, and his clothing as white as snow. 4 And the guards shook for fear of him, and became like dead men. 5 But the angel answered and said to the women, "Do not be afraid, for I know that you seek Jesus who was crucified. 6 He is not here; for He is risen, as He said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay. 7 And go quickly and tell His disciples that He is risen from the dead, and indeed He is going before you into Galilee; there you will see Him. Behold, I have told you." 8 So they went out quickly from the tomb with fear and great joy, and ran to bring His disciples word. 9 And as they went to tell His disciples, behold, Jesus met them, saying, "Rejoice!" So they came and held Him by the feet and worshiped Him. 10 Then Jesus said to them, "Do not be afraid. Go and tell My brethren to go to Galilee, and there they will see Me."

Acts 1:9-11 – Yes again – The narrow way of TRUTH in TIME
9 Now when He had spoken these things, while they watched, He was taken up, and a cloud received Him out of their sight. 10 And while they looked steadfastly toward heaven as He went up, behold, two men stood by them in white apparel, 11 who also said, “Men of Galilee, why do you stand gazing up into heaven? This same Jesus, who was taken up from you into heaven, will so come, in a like manner as you saw Him go into heaven.”

JESUS IS COMING AGAIN, you may have heard that song before, but it is more than a song it is the TRUTH, yet you must believe in order to KNOW Him and the TRUTH.

John 3:16-18 – And again – The narrow way of TRUTH in TIME
16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. 17 For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved. 18 He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

Acts 4:11-12 – And again – The narrow way of TRUTH in TIME
10 “Let it be known to you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, who you crucified, whom God raised from the dead, by Him, this man stands before you whole. 11 This is the 'stone which was rejected by you builders, which has become the chief cornerstone.' 12 Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved."

There is much more to say… and it is not “YOU BETTER WATCH OUT AND BETTER NOT CRY OR POUT” that my friend (even though it is sweet sounding to the ear) it is the wide gate!

John 20:30-31 – And again – The narrow way of TRUTH in TIME
30 And truly Jesus did many other signs in the presence of His disciples, which are not written in this book; 31 but these are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that believing you may have life in His name.

Revelation 22:12-17

12 "And behold, I am coming quickly, and My reward is with Me, to give to every one according to his work. 13 I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End, the First and the Last." 14 Blessed are those who do His commandments that they may have the right to the tree of life, and may enter through the gates into the city. 15 But outside are dogs and sorcerers and sexually immoral and murderers and idolaters, and whoever loves and practices a lie. 16 "I, Jesus, have sent My angel to testify to you these things in the churches. I am the Root and the Offspring of David, the Bright and Morning Star." 17 And the Spirit and the bride say, "Come!" And let him who hears say, "Come!" And let him who thirsts come. Whoever desires, let him take the water of life freely.

Acts 9:11b – This same Jesus, who was taken up from you into heaven, will so come, in a like manner as you saw Him go into heaven.”

MERRY CHRISTMAS
