A Daily Devotional – Holy Day – The Eternal Word (18)

A Daily Devotional – Holy Day – The Eternal Word

Comment: "The sun looks down on nothing half so good as a household laughing together over a meal.” A quote of C.S. Lewis regarding thanksgiving. The giving of thanks is not an annual event in the world around us. The United States of America is the only country that makes the fourth Thursday of November a holiday as a celebrated day of thanks. This Thursday holiday is the national kick start for a month's worth of the visible decline of family in our beloved nation. Each holiday that comes during this month has a specific name and purpose. Yet and because of our national decline into decadence we hold to the traditions of man, rather that understanding something so simple as the original definition of holiday is Holy Day. For me, it is obvious that we have turned this simple truth into a lie.

Devotional: We might find argument with the thoughts above, but when I think and meditate on national things it seems that I am immediately reminded of a verse of scripture in Romans One that reads like this. “who exchanged the truth of God for the lie, and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen.” Romans 1:25

I am certain that C.S. Lewis in his quote about family, laughter and the giving of thanks did not think for a moment of listening in on the laughter at the dinner table these days. Not only in this country, but even in his beloved England. The people described in Romans One have willingly replaced the truth of God, for the lie and they laugh over this. As Dr. Jeremiah said recently – Romans chapter One is the only chapter in the Holy Bible that (as a child of God) is difficult to read.

So, what do you think? Can God be wrong and man, right? Here is a thought that may prove the point. Santa Claus, is He the Truth or is he the lie? From infancy, we are taught to believe by faith in Santa Claus. Also from infancy, we are taught to reject believing by faith in the ONE True God and His Son Jesus. Psalm 19:1-14 provides enough evidence that GOD is revealed in nature and in His Word.

Can we change our mind and return to God? Yes! Read Psalm 19:12-14. Nationally we fail to understand the secret faults of our upbringing and our strong desire to presume that everything is okay; keeps us in darkness. The dominion over our nation today is the dominion of darkness, controlled by Satan and approved by mankind, Romans 1:32. There exists a Kingdom of Light and we ought to be as Joshua who said in his book, please see – Joshua 24:15. If you have time, read the full chapter.

I, like the apostle Paul; am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew first and also for the Greek. (all peoples of the earth). For in it (the gospel) the Righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith (the Jew and the gentile); as it is written (in the Old Testament). “The just shall live by faith!” Habakkuk 2:4.

A Daily Devotional – Exhortation – The Eternal Word (17)

A Daily Devotional – Exhortation – The Eternal Word

Comment: Do we have trouble paying attention. Now I want to play on those words a bit; if we need something from the department store, the grocery or some other specialty shop, we march right out and we shop. Yes we look for bargains, sales and sometimes we even settle for the less expensive product or model! The bottom line is we do not go without, we pay for what we think we need. Well, need it or not the one thing we so often fail at is paying attention, we fail to search out our needs and in the end the knowledge of meeting our needs falls short of the intended MARK.

Devotional: When we attend a Sunday Service, we might contribute to the offering box, but this is about all the paying we will do. When we read, or sit in on a Bible study we normally do not pay attention for what is being read or said. Our desire to listen and meditate is less than what God requires of us. We normally are distracted by – you can fill in the distraction!

“For the Grace of God that brings Salvation has appeared to all men, teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly in this present age, looking for the blessed hope and glorious appearing of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ”.

Yesterday we looked at Titus 2:11-15 and personally I was challenged regarding my own personal walk with the LORD of Glory. If we were to pay attention to the Words of the Holy Bible, it would always be on our mind. In which way; you might ask? Looking for the blessed hope and glorious appearing of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ for sober, righteous, and godly living! And why again? For the Grace of God that has brought to all of God’s children Salvation.

Again why? Because Jesus Christ/Messiah has redeemed us from failing to pay attention a lawless deed that He might purify for Himself, His own special people, zealous for good works. I like what the apostle says in verse 15. Speak these things, exhort, and rebuke with all authority. Let no one despise you or your lack of paying attention.

A Daily Devotional –Love and Grace – The Eternal Word (16)

A Daily Devotional –Love and Grace – The Eternal Word

Comment: Ever attend a Bible Study or Church Service and feel as though the teacher or pastor has found out some of the inner workings of your heart? Well if you are a child of God and say no to that question you are no doubt, face to face with the LORD, see 2 Corinthians 5:8. In this earthly body, God the Holy Spirit is our guide to Righteous living, being spiritual is not relative; it is absolute. Therefore, it is God who through His ministers provides training by Grace. Notice Titus 2:11-15.

Devotional: Most all of God’s children have a definition regarding the words – “The GRACE of God.” It is not my intention of adding confusion to what we already understand, but in recent study and meditation I thought about this. Like the Love of God, the Grace of God cannot be fully understood. Both attributes do not have a limit, these cannot be turned off or turned on by the will of man. Although God absolutely hates evil and will destroy it, when it comes to the evil and the resulting sin of it in man; God has covered man’s sin in the Blood of Christ for all of mankind.

This covering is realized by those who believe God’s grace “for grace you have been saved through (personal) faith, and that (grace) is not of yourself, it is (however) the gift of God – Ephesians 2:8. Also we ought to see that the wrath of God over sin and evil is lifted when “personal faith responds to the grace of God; John 3:18 and John 3:36.

So in closing, if it were not for the character of God who LOVES US and provides GRACE FOR US, salvation from sin and evil would not be possible. This salvation did not happen by chance, it has been and will always be available to all those who believe, to the Jew first (Praise God) and also to the gentile. Salvation by Grace, even from the foundation (forming) of the world – Ephesians 1:4. Warning: this same love and grace will stand as an insurmountable wall to all those who reject this truth. Revelation 13:8-9.
