A Daily Devotional –Gospel – The Eternal Word
Comment: My wife and I continually read a section
of Psalm 119 everyday, we also read a chapter of Proverbs, the one that
corresponds to the date of the day. Now I do not say this to brag on our
religion, since we do not have a religion. If there be anything true, noble,
just, pure, lovely, of good report, virtuous or praiseworthy in this testimony it
is because Philippians 4:8 is real peace for anyone who is willing to meditate
on the Living Word of God. Daily in our reading, God brings Light to our soul,
words that we have read hundreds of times, yet for the purposes of fellowship
and meditation, God speaks peace and assurance that He is with us. God accepts
the freewill offerings of our soul and teaches us His judgments; He protects us
even when we take our lives out of His Hands and fumble around with it in our fleshly
hands (Psalm 119:108-109).
Devotional: In
the earlier section of Psalm 119, we read in verses 103-104 the Words of God
are sweet to our taste, sweeter than honey to our mouth! We understand that the
Psalmist is not referring to his physical mouth, but he does compare the
physical pleasure of eating sweet things with the soul’s desire to be fed the ‘precepts
of God’ these teach us physically, spiritually and mentally to dislike the
bitterness of the false and evil way of life.
This involvement in the Word of God (meditation)
allows us to increase our faith and know of certainty that Christ is risen from
the dead. That He is the firstfruit of those who have fallen asleep (died). For
since by man (Adam) death became real in all lives, also by MAN (Jesus Christ),
all who believe in Him will be made alive. The mystery of this goes away when
we use FAITH to believe, since without faith it is impossible to believe God,
Hebrews 11:6, God rewards everyone who believes in Him through the gospel.
1 Corinthians 15:20-28 reveals to the one who
meditates on Truth that God through Jesus Christ His only begotten Son will set
apart and make holy every person who believes the gospel. For in Adam, all die,
even so in Christ all shall be made alive. This Truth not only provides for
eternal life for those who believe, but it also provides faithful insight that
once the last enemy (death) is defeated, God will be ALL IN ALL, meaning that
sin and death will no longer EXIST. Hallelujah, Amen!
