The Devotional - R026

The Devotional

Comment:

Cultural differences are readily visible when you visit foreign places; like when I visited France, it was not uncommon to see French men walking hand in hand or with one man having his arm draped over the shoulder of another. Two separately human spirits/souls for the moment, equally yoked in a bond of friendship. Now I am not making any comparison to the current worldly effects we see today in the United States of America, or in any other country today that has fallen to the depths of immorality such as we currently see on the streets of our cities and towns. I am referring however to the equality of human life and that of which God offers to His Children.
Challenge: Romans 8:1-3
The thought of quality of life is nearly a constant thought on the mind of every person. How do I look? How do I feel? How can I achieve financial security? How can I get along with others? How can I, how can I and on and on it goes! Yet there are very few of us that think of a quality of life with God as being a part of our daily existence. The truth is we barely think of God, with all of the distractions of the world around us we just would rather ignore God altogether. So we put on the world, we dress like the world and hang with worldly people, we are comfortable abiding in the equality we have in the world.
As a child of God we have opportunity to experience equal friendship with God. “There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh (rest), but according to the Spirit”. The quality of life with God is not fleshly it is Spiritual, John 4:23-34 speaks thusly. “But the hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for the Father is seeking such to worship Him. God is a Spirit, and those that worship Him must worship in spirit and in truth”.
Remember the apostle Paul asked several questions in that if the questions were not answered correctly, one could be considered naïve to the laws governing being sanctified in Christ. In Christ we are freed from the Law of “Thou shall not” sin no longer has the advantage and also we learned that the Law has no power to provide salvation justification. If this is true and it is, then we are in need of another law, one that has the power to save, to justify, to sanctify and to set us free from indwelling sin.
Romans 8:2 – For the Law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me (anyone who believes the gospel) free from the law of sin and death as revealed in 1 Corinthians 15:45 – “As it is written, the first man Adam became a living being. The last Adam (Jesus) became a life-giving spirit”.
Romans 8:3 – For what the (previous) Law could not do in that it was weak through the flesh, God did by sending His own Son (human) in the likeness of sinful flesh (sinless), on account of sin: He condemned sin in the flesh. In 2 Corinthians 5:21 we read – “For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him”. THIS TELLS THE STORY that our soul longs to hear and we only need to believe it. Apart from believing in Jesus the RIGHTEOUS SON of the LIVING FATHER (God) there is NO righteousness of the human that is justified before God.
