The Devotional – As a nation we must...
Comment: Once again I am experiencing email
troubles. Since Thursday of last week I have not been able to utilize my
working email for devotionals. I have struggled with this before and have
decided to use an alternate method, a method that is already in place but some
who have preferred the devotionals by email may not be aware of. I use “Blogger”
“Twitter” and “facebook” to deliver the devotional each morning. So I suppose
the time has come for me to ask all of those (74) who look for the email to log
on to any of those three sites to continue to read. If you have any problems
with this please contact me by email – jesse.a27@yahoo.com
Thank you.
Devotional: This morning, like most every
weekday, I seek to watch a few minutes of news and I am sure that I am not
alone in this. Yet as I watched, I thought about the troubling condition of the
world around us. If we dwell on the subjects covered in the news (like some do)
our day can turn out full of worry, fear and even confusion. Worries over the
economy of our private lives and of the nation, fears over our private lives
and our nation and sadly confusion of our private moral standards and that too
of our nation.
Do we need
to change our mind about our private and national life? YES! Yes we do!
Thankfully there are not many options; there are not 300 gods to choose from to
correct our wayward ways, there is not even four or five deities to help us
return to a stable family platform or a secure nation position in the world
around us. THERE IS ONLY ONE GOD! He is the Creator God, He alone holds life
and death in the palm of HIS Hand. Now when we think of life and death we think
only of human life, but God considers the life or death of a nation too.
“For I am
not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of GOD to salvation
(the salvation of ONE or the salvation of a NATION) for everyone who believes,
for the Jew first and also for the Greek (Gentile). For the Righteousness of
GOD is revealed from FAITH to FAITH: as it is written: “the just shall live by
faith!” Romans 1:16-17, if you have the time you might read Romans 18-31, this
is what we are saved from.
