The Devotional - 086 - Spiritual Blessings

A Thought for the Day – 086 – Spiritual Blessings

Proverbs 11-1 – Any national government that presents a system of balance that is deceptive will suffer from idolatry and disgusting characteristics that dull the ears, blur the eyes, mute the smell, deaden the touch and ruin the taste of national freedom. There is but ONE cure for this abomination; the solid ROCK of faith in God to restore justice.

Comments and challenges

In the thought for the day above, I would like to add that all of what is written is taken from two words in Proverbs 11:1, these are the words “abomination and just” if you have a concordance or if you look at the website below and search out the word, you will see that a deeper study of the Living Word of God reveals much.

Faith, Hope and Love; these spiritual blessings of God are like the ABC’s of living the Christian Life and in chapter 13 of First Corinthians the apostle Paul clearly describes that it is a failure to pursue faith and hope without understanding that love is the first blessing that the “non-churched” person should see in people who say they know God.

Now whether we understand it or not, the very first blessing we see from God that brings us face to face with the Cross, the Death of Jesus and His Resurrection is God’s love for ALL. “ALL” is to include all the peoples of the world, even you and me. A simple but powerful verse of scripture for this is the one that even most non-church goers know by heart. John 3:16

In order for you and me to be doers of the Word and not just hearers only (James 1:21-22) we must be willing to lay aside all those “lack of love” filthy things we do and the abundance of wickedness that is evident to the people we are involved with. Because of our human nature, we tend to believe that we do not appear filthy or wicked to others, but others do not see us as we see ourselves. So, there is that spiritual quality of life that the unbelieving must see before they see the need of salvation and of course that quality is – LOVE. Romans 5:8.

Yes, we are “justified” in God’s Plan by faith when we believe in our LORD Jesus Christ and for the first time in our life we experience peace with God, but if I am going to present this peace of God to others in order that they too can be justified I must through faith be willing to stand in His grace and reveal to those around me a heart of rejoicing in a personal hope of the glory of God. This for me is faith, hope and love in action and something that all of us who are saved by grace should be practicing. By and large this is a major failure in churches today.

Therefore it is impossible for you and me to do anything other but fail, if we are not daily in the Word of God. Before His death and resurrection Jesus Christ prays for His disciples and the future church which would be you and me. In John 17:17 His prays to His Father that His disciples and His church should be sanctified in The Father’s Truth. He is literally saying that we are to be “set apart” this is standing in grace daily (sanctifying grace) in order that we might present a confident Hope in the glory of God as we look forward to Him in glorification; Romans 5:1-2. Now we who are saved, do have this confidence (HOPE and FAITH) but if we fail to express these spiritual blessings in (LOVE) then we nothing more in the eyes of the unbeliever than a "noise maker"

Hebrews 9:28 - so Christ was offered to bear the sins of many, and unto them that look for Him shall He appear a second time without sin unto salvation.  Jesse <><
