The Devotional
Change is often difficult in that the initial effect is like a shot of cold water in the face on a cold day. Yet it is my hope that this change will be A soft and pleasant walk. Like one might take on a cool morning while communicating with the LORD. I expect there will be slight changes along the way since I have no specific plan, other than to cut back on the volume of reading.
Someone has recently said that God is AWESOME and so He is. Moses the man, once asked The God of the universe; Moses said to God (ELOHIM) "Please, show me Your glory." - Exodus 33:18. The response of God to Moses reads: "I will make all My goodness pass before you, and I will proclaim the name of the LORD before you. I will be gracious to whom I will be gracious, and I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion." - Exodus 33:19.
God also said that Moses could not see God's face and live, so Moses saw the backside of God which revealed all of God's character to Moses, but God covered the face of Moses and also hid him in the cleft of the rock formation. Exodus 33:20-23.
Have you given much thought of this conversation between the man Moses and The Living God? It is okay to say... "No I have not!" Yet we will take much thought over the next few days and to wet our appetite and increase our hunger let me say this. If the backside (and it is true) reveals all the goodness of God, the front of God as His Will moves through eternity.... must be AWESOME. In fact; looking at the word "Goodness" in the Hebrew language gives the following clue.
Included in the definition of the word pronounced "toob" are these attributes of "gladness and joy" like that of a father who is walking with his children who have a tough time keeping up. All they can see of their father is his backside, the glory of his stature, his wisdom, his strength, his love and truth, his rule over them and their fear for him. But on the face of the father, if they could just keep up, they would see also his gladness and joy.
There will be a day a day like no other when we will see the face of God our Father, full of goodness and joy and OH my friend... what a day that will be! Like children we cannot wait, but we must since the fullness of that joy cannot be measured in TIME.
