The Devotional – Fight the good fight of Faith (Part 2)

Comment: Have you noticed the word, terrorism? It is not simply a word of fear; it is an action word to practice fear on others; intense fear that is religiously followed by the terrorist to control those victims who are being terrorized. Sadly, there is an action word in our churches today and that word is apostatizing. This too is an action word meaning to cause apostatacy. While the terrorist controls people by fear, the apostate controls people by teaching false doctrine (it is just as evil and dangerous as terrorism). Jude as we will see says that these apostates have creep into our churches and have taken them over, for the purpose of creating apostasy. Interestingly the local church believers do not depart from this teaching, they simply allow themselves to follow their teachers and abandon FAITH; the faith of Ephesians 2:8-10. 

Devotional: Jude 1:4 – For certain men have crept in UNNOTICED, who long ago were marked out for this condemnation, ungodly men, who TURN the GRACE of OUR God into lewdness and deny the ONLY LORD God and our LORD JESUS CHRIST. There is a lot more in this verse than I will deal with this morning, but I what to look at the word – “LEWDNESS” Someone is saying “well my church must be okay there is nothing lewd about our church.

Exodus 32:17 -27 – Moses and Joshua returning to camp after Moses met with God heard a noise coming from the camp. Joshua thought it was a noise of war, but Moses said no, he said “it is not the noise of the shout of victory, nor the noise of the cry of defeat, but a sound of singing I hear”. Our churches today are full of false worship services that have nothing to do with the sound teaching of the Word of God. People are gullible, captivated and loaded down with sins. Therefore, they are willingly led astray by false teaching, see 2 Timothy 3:1-9.

Just as the Old Testament Reveals God’s love through godly prophets, priests and kings; the New Testament Reveals God’s love through godly apostles who teach and preach that there is only ONE GOD who is revealed to the CHURCH in these last days, who is the Son of God; the LORD Jesus Christ – Hebrews 1:1-14. He who upholds all things by the word of His power, who purged our sin in His own body and who is at this present time seated at the Right Hand of Majesty, who is better than angels; (for He created all of the angels). He alone has The Throne that is established FOREVER.

Yes, today we must be willing to FIGHT for this FAITH, false religion and false teachers are of the OLD and they are of the NEW. They willingly defile the flesh, reject the authority of scripture and speak evil of godly men. Woe to these people who have gone the way of Cain, who have run greedily after Balaam’s sin for profit. These will perish even as Korah and his family. We are up to verse eleven of this epistle of Jude, I am sure if you study deeper into this book you will see how dangerous it is to fall away from FAITH.
