A Daily Devotional – Creation (2) – The Eternal Word (27)

A Daily Devotional – Creation (2) – The Eternal Word

Comment: As we approach the first day of winter in our nation we look forward to the shortest day of the year which is by the way tomorrow. Daylight is calculated to be only be 5 hours and 50 minutes. Sunrise will be at 7:17 and sunset at 4:32. However, when or if you look at any (good) website for this information you will see that the day is shorter only by one second than the day before. Is this important? It is! Since we live in time and not eternity the only way to measure time is with time itself. God created time, not man. He did not create eternity, eternity has always existed just as God has always existed. God created time.

Devotional: On Friday, we looked at the LAMED file of Psalm 119, verses 89-96. We were not able to complete a full look at all eight verses so today we will.

Earth is but a small dot in the vastness of the universe, yet for you and me it is the most important “dot” as it is our HOME. God does not live in our home, but He does maintain it from eternity and all of earth belongs to Him. Now, including TIME and you and me, Psalm 119:94 the psalmist writes; “I am yours, save me; For I have sought Your precepts.

If you are seriously thinking, at the moment; many thoughts should be active in your mind, some of these are the thoughts of false teaching, various religions including evolution, traditions and humanism. The psalmist writes in verse 95; “The wicked wait for me to destroy me, but I (personally) will consider (give attention to) Your testimonies.” Faith in the Creator God is founded on ONE’s personal faith in God alone and not on the testimonies of religion, evolution or tradition.

Now don’t miss this: Psalm 119:96 – “I have seen the consummation of all perfection, but your commandment is exceedingly broad”. This is a hard verse to understand is it not? It is one of those verses that is read and passed over; like! “Oh, okay, the psalmist must know something I don’t, so I will just move on! Do not pass on, put it if you will in your mind and let your heart meditate on it from time to time.

The coming together of “all things” is God’s Will and God is willing to reveal to His Children His Will. Before sin entered TIME, God spoke to Adam daily to reveal His Will to Adam. To those of personal faith in God, He continues to reveal to His children (Deuteronomy 29:29) and lastly Matthew 5:18, Jesus Christ is the consummation of all things. Not one jot or tittle will pass from the Law of Creation and time until all is fulfilled. Jesus Christ did not come to destroy time, He came to fulfill it, and by faith in Him alone we will be fulfilled.
