A Daily Devotional – Education – The Eternal Word
Comment: "Education without
values, as useful as it is, seems rather to make man a more clever devil."
Another quote of C.S, Lewis and at first glance I rejected the quote, but the
LORD allowed me to remember a discourse that Jesus had with the Jews, see John
8:37-44. Education; that is religions and secular education does little to lead
one away from their father the devil. This education only equips those who
pursue it with enhanced evil; to commit things which defile the person – see Matthew
15:16-20, but again read the context of this chapter.
Devotional: The
failure with religious and secular education, while it is useful as Mr. Lewis says
is that these methods of learning do not produce Praise to God, who is Blessed
forever. Notice what the psalmist has to say in the final Psalm;
Psalm 150 NIV
1 Praise the LORD. Praise God in his sanctuary; praise him in
his mighty heavens.
2 Praise him for his acts of power; praise him for his
surpassing greatness.
3 Praise him with the sounding of the trumpet, praise him
with the harp and lyre,
4 praise him with timbrel and dancing, praise him with the
strings and pipe,
5 praise him with the clash of cymbals, praise him with
resounding cymbals.
6 Let everything that has breath praise the LORD. Praise the
LORD.
Psalm 150
NKJV
1 Praise the Lord! Praise God in His sanctuary; Praise Him
in His mighty firmament!
2 Praise Him for His mighty acts; Praise Him according to
His excellent greatness!
3 Praise Him with the sound of the trumpet; Praise Him
with the lute and harp!
4 Praise Him with the timbrel and dance; Praise Him with
stringed instruments and flutes!
5 Praise Him with loud cymbals; Praise Him with clashing
cymbals!
6 Let everything that has breath praise the Lord. Praise
the Lord!
Without a personal FAITH in God, you and I cannot be
His child or be educated by Him, thus you are not pleasing to God and
whatsoever is not of faith… is sin! Study 1 Corinthians 2:6-16 and see for yourself.
You
will be glad you did!
