A Daily Devotional – a Rock – The Eternal Word
Comment: A rock is a rock, it is unchangeable,
yet because it is a rock it is not immutable as it could easily become a
crushed rock. While crushed and contained its identity remains, but because of
time and contamination it will lose its unchangeable character and within a
short time, it will be unidentifiable. The Living Word of God, that is; the
Holy Bible is immutable, no one can change it. Time and human history
(contamination) have taken its best opportunities to destroy the Holy Bible and
its content of immutable Truth. (Time and humanity will always fail) Now, the Holy Bible is not the ROCK,
IT IS THE UNCHANGABLE LAW OF GOD. Jesus Messiah came to fulfill the
Law, not destroy it – Matthew 5:17-20. God keeps the Law Immutable and the faith
of God’s children keep it unchangeable throughout time. Matthew 16:17-20.
Devotional: In
pondering this thought this morning I was quickly reminded that over the last
six thousand years the Law of God has never been shaken, destroyed or changed.
God’s command over creation is a Law which will not be broken. The works of His
Hands are revealed to us every day. Every night His Majesty is displayed in the
heavens. Every language on the earth can understand His immutable attributes
and there is nothing created that can hide from the Creator.
Thus, the Law of God is perfect for creation and the
soul of man. As God refreshes Creation, He also refreshes the Soul. God makes
the simple minded wise and the testimony of God is true. God rejoices creation and the
heart of man with unchanging attributes and His commandments are so pure that
these give light to Creation and the eyes of a man or woman who seeks Him. Those who fear
the LORD are cleansed by the Blood; a faith that is solid like a rock. See Romans 8:18-39.
All those who seek the LORD understand that the
judgments of the LORD are pure, pure like refined gold and silver. Also, the
Law of God is sweet, like honey from the honeycomb. In all of this we are
warned daily that in keeping these attributes of God by faith, even though we
are crushed at times, our faith in God is a solid ROCK. See Psalm 19:1-14.
