A Daily Devotional – Ephesians – Personal Meditation (3)

A Daily Devotional – Ephesians – Personal Meditation

Comment: There are many avenues that lead a person to prosperity, such as; professional careers (doctors and lawyers and businesspersons). There trades too; like; (mechanics, cooks and carpenters). But to amass wealth from any of these avenues of life, one must have endurance. There are many people all working in the fields mention above, not all of them will amass wealth, they will survive as less than one percent will become rich. Based on an article from Forbes; one which I did not fully read, any person with the annual income of 717k is considered rich while the average income of the remainder is 51k. Of course, Forbes was not looking at third world nations in this equation. Here is the rub! The children of God, those who are saved by grace, through faith are richer at this very present moment in time than all of those who amass any wealth at all. However, most children of God do not know how to use what they have. Let me also say that I am not talking about the gold and silver, or the precious stones of this world which will melt in the heat of the Day of LORD., (2 Peter 3:10-13) so I am writing about eternal spiritual prosperity, something the world cannot have.

Devotional: So how is it than the “grace of God” allows the child of God to live rich “spiritually”? Ephesians 1:2-14 provides ample truth, that every child of God should KNOW. We have received grace and peace from God, and God has blessed (bestowed) on every child of His; the following riches of EVERY Spiritual blessing. Through His Son, that is through His death, burial and resurrection and by personal faith of everyone who believes, God gives the following riches, which the world cannot have.

(1)   We are chosen by God, because we have believed; in Christ
(2)   We are holy and blameless, because we have believed, in Christ
(3)   We are adopted into God’s family, because we have believed, in Christ
(4)   We are accepted by God, because we have believed, in Christ
(5)   We are redeemed through His blood by God, because we have believed, in Christ
(6)   We are forgiven of all sins, because we have believed, in Christ
(7)   We are given wisdom and understanding, because we have believed, in Christ
(8)   We are made to know the mystery of God’s Will, because we have believed, in Christ
(9)   We have obtained an inheritance from God, because we have believed, in Christ

The above list is guaranteed (in time and eternity) to every child of God who trusts the work of Jesus Christ who died and rose again. In His death, He died to remove sin from the world; that is your sin and mine. In His resurrection from that death, He secured victory over death for everyone who believes. This guarantee is God the Holy Spirit who now dwells in every child of God, in that; in believing we were sealed with Christ, in God, through the Holy Spirit who is given to us. In this we praise and glorify God daily. A suggested reading: John 14 through John 16.
