A Though for today by Papa “J”

Testimony – a solid declaration of truth based on an observation by a witness. That is a definition found in most dictionaries. Here is the biblical definition. One’s character before the eyes of God and man, if it is not the same then you are a hypocrite! Both definitions are not far apart. Matthew 23:27

MORE THOUGHTS

With just about everything a person can do, someone else can find a fault it what is being done. So I will be directing our thoughts to one word; observation. I believe (and of course some would observe not to believe) that God did not give us eyes to observe and condemn, but to observe and give praise. All of the chatter that runs out of the mouth about our negative observations accomplishes NOTHING. When is the last time you or I accomplished our goal of a critical spirit where it worked out well? I can think of none! At the very least of this is that someone might be heard saying; “well I vented some of my frustration and now I feel better”. Is that selfish or what? So here is the way to stay off the dead end street of critical observation. “Rejoice in the LORD always. Again I will say, rejoice! Let your gentleness be known to all men. The LORD is at hand.” Philippians 4:4-5 for the whole of the matter read Philippians 4:6-9 too! God’s children do not need to observe the world (they know it and they know what to expect). Saints need to observe; things that are true and noble, things that are just and pure, things that are lovely and of good report. Finally believers in Jesus Christ must observe virtue and express a praiseworthy Spirit. This is the testimony that does not fail the trials of living in and among the lost. Look, in doing this you will properly observe that one lost sheep that Jesus is leading you to! Luke 15:3-7.

Psalm 38:9-10

The heart that contemplates repentance from sinful bondage will painfully sift through the various weights of indifference found in the rebellious attitudes of the heart. Each desire must be evaluated, tossed out or revised to the will of God. It is not an easy task to regain the blessing of living a holy, confident, Spirit filled life after having fallen away for a season of time. Most Christians know this first hand. I praise the LORD for you if you have not had to climb out of this terrible spiritual rut.

The sighing comes just as one feels the accomplishment of repenting from some issue, only to see in the minds eye, another stumbling stone right behind the one just cleared. If you live in New England, repenting is like these back to back snow storms that keep us shoveling snow on Wednesday instead of going off to our Wednesday night prayer service. The soul that has to pray for forgiveness of the mounds of selfish sin has no time to pray for the “one anothers” in Christ. (Matthew 7:1-6)

The heart that is sick with sin races with confusion, doubt and fear. Repenting from a season of sin is not impossible. Repent and behave as a Christian. Romans 12:1-21. Verse 21; do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.

Aminni dominni! Poof you are a frog! Or hockus pokeus, be eaten by a swarm of locust! I remember as a child playing these games and moms would call us when we got home, little angels or saints. Think about this for a moment or two!

MORE THOUGHTS

Over sixty four sins are recorded in the epistle of 1 Corinthians and a good study for anyone would be to count them. Want to see something that I find interesting? Notice the first few verses of 1 Corinthians 1:1-3. Verse one: Paul called an apostle of Jesus Christ through the will of God. Then again in Verse two: The church of God at Corinth, to those who are sanctified (set apart) in Christ Jesus called saints. The words (to be) in italics are not in the original manuscripts but are added by translators for flow and connection. God called Paul an apostle and he was. Why? Because he personally followed Christ and this was the will of God. Just as it is the will of God that those who are set apart for Jesus Christ are called by God, saints. So I do not believe that any human religious authority has the power to call men or women saints. Since the only one who maintains that authority and power to lift humans above the sixty four sins found in this epistle is Jesus Christ. Who by the will of God is the Lamb of God who qualifies us to become saints, Colossians 1:12-14, so comfort yourself with this thought. Grace and peace come from God our Father, the Father of all saints who call upon the LORD Jesus as their Savior. Romans 10:13

Psalm 38:6-8

For me I find a great deal of comfort as I read the thoughts that are racing through king David’s mind. He says that he is bent down (troubled) then he goes on to further explained that he is reluctantly bowed down as God forces him to mourn over his sinfulness of the past months. Daily, physical pain and spiritual anguish is about all that David can think about… ever been there? I have so I can speak with some authority. I do not want to know this condition of life ever again.

Being broken by God is very real and the scripture text that comes to mind here is found in the epistle of Hebrews. Hebrews 4:11-14, once we depart from the rest of faith that God has prepared for His children to abide in there will be no rest for the wicked. The only reward is unrest like we observe here in these passages of David’s confession.

Turmoil of heart will make anyone small or great in the eyes of the world groan. All of the private desire of mankind is before the LORD. Every emotion we generate is visible to God, so hearts fail… not because of health, but because of sin. The weight of sin, not forgiven is an unbearable burden. How many ways does it take to explain this truth before it sinks in? The heart and strength give way to weakness, even the light in the eyes begins to go out. Awe; go ahead, run to the doctor for a pill or a band aide, both will wear out soon. But for me, I am looking to my compassionate High Priest. Hebrews 4:14-16. He is eternal and He never wears out.

A Though for today by Papa “J”

The gutters and ruts of life are not far from anyone of us. Truth is that many of God’s saints came from such a place. I for one am very familiar with gutters and ruts!

MORE THOUGHTS

The finite mind is an interesting tool that man has to work with. What is on one persons mind may never travel through the mind of another. Even if you bring it to their attention of whatever “it” is; it may not register. Take for example the word, “prosperity”, oh you say that everyone understand prosperity so that undermines your thoughts on the finite mind. Notice if you will Psalm 73:1-3. Truly God is good to Israel. Most people know that and yet many have differing reasons why. We need to take this a bit further. Notice what God says to the reader, “to those who are pure in heart”. Not all of Israel is pure of heart! Now look at verse two. “But as for me, my steps had nearly stumbled; for I was envious of the boastful, when I saw the prosperity of the wicked”. So there is dispirit or discouragement that goes on in the finite mind on every transaction of the mind. In the case of the prospering wicked person, the godly may slip into the sin of coveting what the wicked has. So it goes with most of what travels the highways and byways of the mind of man. Notice the conditions of health of the prospering wicked (which diminishes rapidly) and the remorse of the godly one who still craves prosperity. Psalm 73:4-8, notice the godly and ungodly in stiff necked rebellion, Psalm 73:10-14. God has placed His wisdom to overcome all stumbling blocks in the sanctuary of every church. It takes people inspired of God the Holy Spirit to bring the congregation through the misunderstandings of the finite mind. Psalm 73:1-28.

Psalm 38:3-5

Some has determined and I think if you take the time to do the math you too will see that king David spent about eighteen months in solid rebellion against God once he committed adultery and murder during this period in his life. Actually, in the forgiveness of God, David was fully forgiven, but the circumstance of his sin was never removed. Life after sins (any sins) is never fully the same since sin always leaves a human pathway to the future.

But we’ve not gotten past David’s confession as of yet. Notice, if you will that David’s health is affected by his sin, we could cover another nine pages of what sin does to the human body and not even mention the soul. Notice too, that David uses the word “iniquities” instead of the word “sin”. He means that he is days removed from sin and confession. Now his life is out of balance, he is on an uneven keel with God. The unrepentant soul stands on the threshold of the sin unto death. 1 John 5:14-17

Foul is the odor of death, if you have been around one who has been dead for only a few days the stench is very alarming. Think of this going on in the body while one yet lives! God does not hold back many punches for the soul that sins and does not confess. It is foolish to walk out of balance with God. He will either bring you to a balanced relationship once again, or bring six feet of dirt over your body.

A Though for today by Papa “J”

I may have struck a nerve with the devotional of yesterday. Of the two blogs, the one that is aimed at the gutters of the world, we had over four hundred viewers. By the way… those in the gutters do read, praise the LORD!

MORE THOUGHTS

What would it be to you and me if there were no wisdom or glimmer of truth in the world around us? Oh Bosh! That would never happen! Well now maybe we should give this a moment or two of thought? There is a push throughout the world to dumb the populations of the world down. One effort is called socialistic (government) rule and the other is called autocratic (dictatorship) rule. Both are forms of oppression, both work by controlling life, liberty and the pursuit of truth. The first attack is on life, once life is controlled the next step is to take away liberties by exacting laws that control freedom. Once these two elements have directed the population through controlled education, the Truth is extinguished and the dumbing down of a people or nation is complete. The cost of this nationally is terminal, and on a world wide scale is setting up for the end of life on planet earth. Can this trend in the world today be corrected? Some reformed theologians believe it can, if so what are they doing about it? I see nothing! There is but one solution. The world cannot function without Truth, so Jesus is Coming Again, either the world will repent (unlikely), or the world will soon witness the heavens open and Christ will come with His Army, His translated Saints with Him and His Reign will be millennial. Revelation 19:11-16 and the oppression of socialistic and autocratic rule will be destroyed for ever Revelation 19:17-21.

Psalm 38:1-2

I believe that when a person who knows the LORD and walks away from Him, that he or she will respond just as king David does in this Psalm. Most of us who are born again have felt the rebuke of Jesus Christ when we sin. To God it does not matter if the sin is adultery, or stealing. Sin is sin! Such a small word, but one sin the size of stealing a plastic bag carries enough weight to feel the hot rebuke of God and the terrible knowledge of destroying your testimony of holiness and obedience.

His chastening comes from every angle in the mind. Guilt, sadness, emotional anguish, loneliness, helplessness and a host of conditions in the mind that tell you, you have sinned against God and wronged your fellow man.

Then, as if that is not enough, and usually it is not enough the weight of God’s Hand will press you down. Depression will set in. Now I have committed a lot worse sin, but recently on the way to the dump I thought of stealing the plastic bag that the trash was in because the dump charges nearly two dollars a bag for these special dump bags. The moment of truth was very weighty. I could in my mind hear God’s hot displeasure. “What are you thinking Jesse? For two dollars you are willing to throw your testimony away with the trash! I own the cattle on a thousand hills. Can I not provide what you need before you need it?” Awe LORD you are so awesome! You bring me to tears of repentance and joy!

A Look at the Book #380

Daily Devotional – A Look at the Book #380

A Though for today by Papa “J”

Pray for Justice, Mercy and Faith! Pray for Justice, Mercy and Faith! Pray for Justice, Mercy and Faith! Americans may have their National Coming out Day if one person has their way. If the Saints of God neglect the call to prayer and fasting, Sodom and Gomorrah will witness the fall of another corrupted nation.

MORE THOUGHTS

Not by volume, but by weight says the LORD! You say; ”Where does He say that?” Matthew 23:23 reminds us to hate personal and national sin. My question now! “Do you personally or nationally hate sin, or do you tolerate it like most?” The volume of this personal and national conduct increases daily and we are asked continually by Para-church organizations to throw money and time at the problems we personally and nationally face. Have you not noticed that those who practice personal and national sin simply tolerate these efforts, likewise! “Woe to you, lawyers and teachers, hypocrites! For you pay the premium price of the law, and have neglected the weightier matters of the law, such as; Justice and Mercy and Faith!” What is that I hear again, did someone say… hogwash? Here is God’s invitation to abundant life: “If my people who are called by My Name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.” God does not need our money or our so-called educated talent. He needs our humbled repentant soul. Until every saint of God needs “knee surgery” God will not heal this land.

Psalm 37:37-40

In the economy of God, does He see you as blameless? If I look around at people, my observation is that there are none blameless. The plain truth is that I do not even need to read this in Holy Bible to know this truth, but it is much better to see this in scripture. Romans 3:9-18 and verse 23. You can if you have the time read Romans 1:18-32 and see the national conditions that God is aware of in this nation today.

My heart cries and aches with pain. I would so much like to own an arsenal as large as the armies of the world and destroy all the stiff-necked people I could find. But first I would have to aim the first bullet at myself, then that war would be over quickly. But take this moment and read 1 Corinthians 6:9-11. God has a much better way, notice verse 11. And such were some of you, but you were washed, but you were sanctified (called out). That is the calling out we need. WE need to be justified in the name of the LORD Jesus and by the Spirit of our God.

We live in troubling and confusing times. Satan is a hungry lion. He is devouring this nation’s children even before birth. If he fails at this, he distracts them with homosexuals and sodomites. He has placed blinders on the grand parents of this land who say. “Well times are changing, we would not have done this in our day and our day is over! As for parents, WHERE ARE THE PARENTS? Why, they are in 1 Corinthians 6:9 too; Idolaters, adulterers, drunkards and revilers. But God says and we must follow His command for JUSTICE, MERCY and FAITH. This will come to the nation if we wear out our knees.

Daily Devotional – A Look at the Book #379

A Though for today by Papa “J”

Casting your burdens aside or to the wind is dangerous. You never know when the wind will change direction. Even in the dark you may stumble again over the same stump. Read your Bible and notice that God has a lighter path for you. Psalm 55:22; 119:105 and Philippians 4:6-7.

MORE THOUGHTS

We sometimes reflect on the things in life that are downright scary. You know! Phobias are very real to the people who are affected by them. Bugs, rodents, dark places and a host of other living or dormant objects can and do affect our day. I’ve have heard of some who will only go to and from work a certain way (the long way), just because of a fear of passing a certain place where a tragic event once happened. What to know what I fear? Of course you do! I fear that if you do not know salvation by personal faith in Jesus Christ, that you will die a death that removes you from God for eternity. I fear this for you because God has enlarged my heart with his love, to let you know that there are just two places where you will personally spend eternity. ONE: With Him in the New Jerusalem (Hebrews 11:13-16 and 12:22-24), this truth is explained throughout the Holy Bible. God desires a personal relationship with you. (John 3:10-21) You will not find this truth explained in any other religious document. TWO: Without Him in a place also prepared by God, with just enough room for you to personally dwell there for eternity. I cannot imagine anyone wanting to be in a place where God does is not present. The astronaut will tell you that there is room for you and God in space. The submariner will tell you that God is with him in the deepest part of the oceans and the miner will affirm that God is present with him in the deep earth. Here is what one man has to say about hell! Luke 16:19-31. Also, you will not find truth about hell in any other religious document, so don’t waste time looking since you really don’t have time.

Psalm 37:32-36

I have some compassion on churches that refuse to talk about hell and what I find odd is that there are many churches throughout the world, or even closer, like here our nation that refuse to tell their congregation that unsaved sinners are going to end up in eternity in a place where they cannot be found. What did you say? I said: “Cannot be found” Psalm 37:36 what this means is that a person who dies without being biblically saved is ETERNALLY LOST.

Here is a thought to those of us who say we are saved by a personal relationship with Jesus Christ the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world. John 1:29-34. The unsaved (wicked) person watches you. He or she seeks to slay your testimony. You will be delivered out of this snare because God protects you, so be bold and tell the unsaved of the grace of God. Wait on the LORD and keep His way by living holy lives. This is not optional! The wicked must see the righteousness of Christ through YOU!

The wicked has enough power to make a prosperous way in life, it will even look appealing. Yet this is only a temporal moment, once it is over, it is OVER for them. Someone else will come along and reap the inheritance. Okay, what is wrong with that since it is what the Bible explains. We believers in Christ have an inherited responsibility to live in righteousness in the face of unrighteousness. Ezekiel 18:19-32.

A Look at the Book #378

Daily Devotional – A Look at the Book #378

A Though for today by Papa “J”

The soul that is cleansed of sin is whiter than fresh snow. It must be beautiful in the eyes of Him who created us. Isaiah 1:18-20

More Thoughts

Adjusting the Devotional may take a few days. My hope is that it will encourage us to look to God for everything. To keep us focused on the truth that God loves us. That He has placed eternity in our heart, Ecclesiastes 3:11. Every time I am reminded of this my mind wants to investigate the soul. So how do I shorten the message but lengthen our desire to look into the most beautiful garden of God? At the fall we were stripped of our eternal Life relationship with God and given a temporal relationship with Good and Evil. Jesus the sinless Son of God understood Good and Evil, but He did not commit Good and Evil as we do. (sin) His soul in human flesh was a Perfect walk in the Garden of God, except for three hours of His Physical life when He bore the penalty of our sin. 2 Corinthians 5:21

Psalm 37:30-31

Ever give thought to the righteousness of one’s heart? If you have a job these days you most likely hear people say this frequently. “I am right” or “trust me on this”. This is not the intent of the Word of God concerning righteousness since there is little justice in simple remarks like these with little backing.

The Word of God normally does not use the word righteousness without the word justice being found within the same contextual statement. Therefore, it requires that, the wisdom of God must first be in the soul of man before the person can speak it. One cannot have righteousness and no knowledge of justice. Just as one cannot have faith and no production of a working faith. Ephesians 2:10

So what am I saying? If you are saved and I trust that you are. There is the necessity of training the soul in the wisdom of God. (Put more eternity in your soul) Then there is the necessity of practicing that training. The steps of this individual will not slip or slide.

Daily Devotional – A Look at the Book #377

Some thoughts for today by Papa “J”

There are always opportunities for change. That is for people, places and the planet. Do not look for change from God, He does not change! If He did, we might all be dead! Malachi 3:6

I am making a slight change to the way the devotional goes out. I will be using Microsoft Office instead of Open Office since the latter program hangs up a lot. As time goes on, I plan to shorten things up a bit, making the read easier for everyone. Here is the point! We do lead busy lives and it is important that we maintain good stewardship over our responsibilities. So, I need to be aggressive with the morning message and both the reader and the writer need a challenge that will motivate us to walk in wisdom and understanding. Our mind daily focuses on temporal needs and this is normal. But in contrast we must be willing to focus on eternal things too, this also is normal. Both the temporal and the eternal working together is a worship sequence toward God that always produces the “Joy” of living life “In Christ” He alone is the anchor that places eternity in our heart while change takes place, all around us. Hebrews 13:8

Psalm 37:27-29

I love the Word of God, I love His Commands. Either do what He says or reap the consequence. The world around us lives in a system of relativisms’ seeking to believe in the unbelievable conclusion that evil is good. Here in Psalm 37:27 God simply but boldly says. Stop and get away from evil and dwell forevermore.

There are added rewards for those who dwell in the justice of God’s Word. Take a look at this next verse. Saints are those who trust the Blood of Christ for justification and they will not be forsaken. This awesome hope that the saints have will be rewarded with a preserved and protected eternal life with God forever. Wow!

Some have become cultish, thinking that holiness is a matter of doing good works. If we are not careful this passage and others like it promote doing what we can by human effort, be careful and do not fall into this trap. Our righteous effort is not good enough to bring us to God. God has brought us to His standard of Righteousness, who is Jesus Christ and God says, for us to Hear Him and follow Him. Psalm 37:29 and Philippians 2:5-11.

The Devotional – A Look at the Book #376

Papa “J” and his thoughts?

Once a nation slips from the Righteous standards of the Living Word of God the second step is falling from Constitutional stability. Call the reason anything else but SIN and the results are: A poor economy, increased political ruin and spiritual poverty. Proverbs 14:34

Someone once said that hymns cause people to think about death, like the song that is so sweet to the saints ear. How Great Thou Art! With the words... when Christ shall come and take me home, what joy shall fill my heart!. Just one more! Victory in Jesus and the Old, old Story, how a Savior came from glory and how He gave His life a ransom for such a wretch like me. These and all of the hymns are not about death, but about life. These musical testimonials are written by people, who; in every way explained are living to life, not dying to it. People who can easily be added to the list of men and women found in Hebrews 11:1-40 and Hebrews 12:1-2. These men, women and children share a common bond of Faith, Faith in the One that the writer of Hebrews testifies that He alone is the Leader of the Nation of Faith. God is building His eternal church in the New Jerusalem and you might ask; “What does that church look like from an earthly perspective?” To one we are the aroma of death to death, and to the other the aroma of life to life. Are you sufficient in Christ to understand this? We are not peddlers of the Word of God in jest, we are sincere. Why? Because God lives, and through the death and resurrection ONE, we live and speak in His Name. 2 Corinthians 2:12-17 We express through the Spirit of God living in us a fragrance of Christ, of LIFE to those saved and death to those who are not.

CERTAIN PSALMS OF INTEREST

Psalm 37:25-27 One of the hardest measures in life is to measure the distance of life. How long shall you or I live? The measuring stick for some can span the distance of a century and for others, less than nine months. None of these who are purchased by the Blood of Christ will ever be found begging for bread, that is just the way it is. I have been young and now I am old, that is a true statement for me. I liked being young, but I am filled with joy being old.

Why? Because God has blessed me with opportunity to see His Hand making provision for all who place their faith in His Hands. What is that? Faith in God, faith in His Love, faith in His promises, faith in His Son, Jesus, faith in His Word, faith in His Creation. Here too is a list that can go on and on and never become complete or rediculious. Faith is the “substance” of things hoped for and Faith is the “evidence” of things not yet seen. Hebrews 11:1

Faith in the Mercy of God is like a sunrise! One day's failure opens to another day of a fresh start! God who is rich in Mercy says. “Your sins are forgiven” quit acting like a lame duck, pick up your bed and walk! Depart from evil, do good and dwell safely forevermore. I love the Word of God as it leads me to Life in Christ. A life that I could not have, if it were based on anything I could do. So, I like many of you reading this will never be seen begging for bread as we have the Bread of Life. John 6:48 (John 6:41-71).

Papa “J” and his thoughts?

There are the simple in every room of the house, even the prudent! But the wise person who fears the LORD will leave the house and go home, and the fool rages on and on and on! Proverbs 14:15-16 revisited

John Newton is well known for his life and faith in Christ Jesus his LORD, he is also known for the Song, “Amazing Grace” which he wrote, although most hymnals include stanza #5 that was written later by John Rees. Mr. Newton wrote another hymn we sing often and the name of that song is; “Glorious Things of Thee are Spoken”. This song is more about the nature and foundation of the city of the saints future. A city where God lives, a city where the Word of God will never be broken, the Place where Jesus the solid Rock of Faith lives, a city protected by the gospel of God. The point! Men and women who are the saints of God continually speak of a city who's Builder and Maker is God Himself. Saints Fear the LORD! meaning that they are willing to make mention of this City to everyone in the uttermost parts of this temporal world. From age to age the story, the path and the mission of every saint is pointed at the New Jerusalem. If your eyes are not on Jesus who has gone to prepare a place for you in the New Jeruslem (Zion). Then you are most likely on some religious dead end street and not on the road of the majestic LORD who will be first the Judge, second the Lawgiver, third the King as He alone is our Savior. Psalm 87 and Isaiah 33:20-21. If you do not get past the Judge, you do not get in!

CERTAIN PSALMS OF INTEREST

Psalm 37:21-24 What is it that the wicked borrows and does not repay? He or she borrows the saints mercy and then spreads it over a selfish banquet table. To the world it looks like they are the gracious host, but not being satisfied with this fleesing of the flock of God, they continue the scam in their own clan. Then if caught in their deception, they will blame God and His saints.

The signs of the times we live in is much like those times in Isarel. Like the apostasy found in the book of the prophet Hosea 8. In chapter 7 of Hosea he starts with the impenitence of Israel (backsliding) and how that forced the nation to rely on other nations for financial and economic support (sound familiar) if it does not, then you've no doubt burried your head in the sand.

As saints, we need not fear. Oh, of course the circumstances of judgment of God like; famine, pestilence and increased natural disasters will continue and we who are alive will suffer through for a short season. But Jesus is coming for His Church, if your church is not His church, you may have to stay until salvation comes to you. He is coming soon! We shall not be utterly cast down for He alone has the Power, the Authority and the Rank to uphold His promises with His Righteous Right Hand and He will reign Supreme. 1 Thessalonians 5:1-11

A Look at the Book #375

The Devotional

Papa “J” and his thoughts?

A person does not haphazardly fall into evil, they actually invent each episode, leading themself astray. The one who plans to do good and follows through, will inherit a blessing from God. Proverbs 14:20-21

Yesterday coming home from church we were traveling on a road with the speed limit of fifty miles per hour. We were at that speed and talking about the events at the church and suddenly from a side street a car darted out in front of us. The car could not have been more then ten to fifteen yards from us. “Oh no!” was my reaction and my wife screamed! I was certain that the impact was our next event. I hit the brakes and swrived to my left, nothing was coming from the opposite direction and one pickup was waiting at the intersection on the other side to come out. We slid nearly to a stop and the other car moved closer, I released the braking action and we rolled beyond the impact and I moved back into our lane of traffic. We were spared of a major event and God's hand was responsible. My explanation does not fit well with the moment since the whole of the matter was that a collison was imminient, outside of God's intervention we would have collided. Not only does God have perfect knowledge of everything in the lives of His saints, He also has a perfect plan for them as well and no harm will come to them if the plan is not yet completed. Psalm 139:1-24 is the sum of the matter, since there were even some negative thoughts about the person in the other vehicle.

CERTAIN PSALMS OF INTEREST

Psalm 37:16-20 The joy and hope that belong to the saints of God is in the eyes of the world an intangible thing. But to the saints these blessings hold eternal tangible reward. Why? Because, with being godly there is great gain. This is what the apostle Paul has to say in 1 Tim 6:6. you see error and greed run in the hearts of ungodly people. All that they have will perish and since they have no joy or hope they have pierced themselves through with many sorrows. 1 Tim 6:3-10.

Can you wrap your soul around this thought concerning the possibility of having a “better resurrection”. Hebrews 11:35 You do know that when you die or when you are translated into heaven that God calls this event a resurrection to life and not death. God is not the God of the dead but He is God of the Living. Matthew 22:23-33, you know what is interesting to me about this section of scripture. Verse 33, when the many people heard this, they were astonished as His teaching. Wow! Inheritance forever, just as Psalm 37:18 promises. What is better than that?

Shall fear of famine, tribulation, distress, tribulation, persecution, nakedness or death interfere with the joy and hope we have in God? The answer is imphatic “NO”. The question again is “WHY”? Because the love of Christ Jesus our LORD controls us. Just as our inheritance as children of God is everlasting, so is God's everlasting love. Romans 8:31-39.

A Look at the Book #373

The Devotional

Papa “J” and his thoughts?

Do you have a watchman over your mouth? The answer is yes. So who might that watchman be? Your neighbor knows if you are trustworthy with your lips, he also knows your emotional reactions. Would your conversation with God, who is closer to you, be like your conversation with your neighbor? Proverbs 14:20-21

I would like to write a little more about the song, “Jesus loves me”. During the 1990's our church was involved with prison ministry and several of us would go twice weekly to one of the local prisons. Our involvment was really blessed of the LORD and you could easily see the work of the Holy Spirit in the lives of troubled people. One spiritual awareness factor that struck me about prison ministry is the number of inmates that would be impacted spiritually by the song, “Jesus love me”. Today, ten years later, I am still reminded of the grown men who would weep when that song was sung. Whether the weeping was from remembering childhood experiences of going to church, or hearing grammy singing them to sleep in those early childhood days, who really knows! Maybe, they were hearing the song for the first time! Men, who steal, maim or murder have lost their way and these folks are no different then the banker or politician who has embezzeled or taken greedy advantage of his or her position in the public eye. These folks are no different than you or me. All of us fall short of the mark that God has placed in the middle of the target. Romans 5:8 says this: “But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us”. Jesus loves me! Does this not make you break out like a thunder storm and cry all over your keyboard? Does me!

CERTAIN PSALMS OF INTEREST

Psalm 37:11-15 If you are among the meek of the world, then you know that Jesus is coming again. This will be seven years from this very moment if the translation of the saints of God to heaven came, NOW! This is commonly referred to as the rapture of the church. So all of the meek who ever lived to this point will go to the bema seat of Christ. 2 Cor 5:9-11; 1 Thess 4:15-18 and if you have time 1 Cor 15:50-58.

During this seven years from the Rapture to the Second Advent, called the Tribulation, the wicked will plot against the just and gnash their teeth over those who come to faith in Christ during that time. God will seek to save those who call upon Him, but He will also laugh at those who rebel because Jesus knows that His Day of return is near.

With swords drawn and with their bows of destruction ready to slay (many will be slain) Christ will return and destroy those who destroy the upright. Revelation 19:11-16. Peace will return to the earth along with the armies of the meek. We will return with Him to rule and reign for a thousand years. Revelation 20:4-6 and our passage, Pslam 37:11 (All of the grace and mercy of God is accounted for in the Person of Jesus Christ, if you do not know Him personally, you do not know the love of God).

A Look at the Book #372

The Devotional

Papa “J” and his thoughts?

One thing I have noticed while strolling through the Proverbs of Solomon. The walk is pleasant for those conform to God, but for the fool and the unwise the pathway is a jungle where the very nature of things work opposingly against the simple of heart. Proverbs 14:15-19

“Jesus Loves Me” by Anna Warner. She also wrote two other hymns. “One more days work for Jesus” and “We would see Jesus” She and her sister would hold bible studies at West Point for the cadets. Today the West Point Academy maintains the Warner Estate as a Tribute to the dedication of these two women who served the LORD for many years. She was born in 1827 and died in 1915. Her sister Susan who wrote under the pseudonym Amy Lothrop.(fictious name). History records the two women as American writers. Susan did not write hymns, but she did help Anna write some of the children's books like, “Dollars and Cents” and “Mr. Rutherford's Children”. What's the point, Jesse? We are just three years from the 200th year anniversary of Anna's death. Yet two of her songs live on in the hearts of children and adults alike. I believe the message which is also written on her grave stone “We would see Jesus” is the message that all of us need to hear. Jesus Loves Me, this I know for without His Love for us, No one would see Jesus. Behold, what manner of love the Father has bestowed on us, tht we should be called the children of God! Therefore the world does know us, because it did not know Him. 1 John 3:1 Since we know Him because of His Love, we should then eagerly set our goal to be conformed into His image. He would want that of us, see Romans 12:1-2

CERTAIN PSALMS OF INTEREST

Psalm 37:9-10 You might think that the evil doer has no inheritance, don't be fooled everyone who is born of the flesh will inherit something from God. Notice the words “cut off” used in most translations. These words literally mean “destruction” so the evil doer will inherit chaff, Psalm 1:4 remember when we looked at that verse. Ever try to catch a bit of chaff blowing in the wind, even in you do, what is the worth of it? What ever it was, is no more!

Speculation over the meaning of inheriting the earth found in Psalm 37:9 and 11 has caused a number of cluts to practice a false system of works for those who follow their pernicious ways. For the elite of these systems of false teaching is heaven, for those who are less fortunate, they inherit the earth. Not the new heavens and earth of 2 Peter 2:13, but the one spoken of in the earlier verses 10 -12. Now there is a lot of chaff, huh?

Religions and cults operate falsely under the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil, these systems use termonology found in the Holy Bible. The Children of God live and abide under the calling of God, the Tree of Life. Under this Tree is the only place where the inheritance of the earth works for the child of God since he or she knows that they are looking beyond the cross of Jesus to a city that He is building where the New heavens and earth are. He is coming again. Those who are trained by grace, rather than by works know this truth. Titus 2:11-15.

Papa “J” and his thoughts?

The purpose in the heart can be like that of a false face. That word is well know... hypocrite! A word we do not like. Mainly because it carries guilt in both directions. Want to have peace in this matter, confess both sins and draw closer to God. Proverbs 14:14

Every now and then it becomes difficult to find things in my mind to write about and this is one of those seasons. If you have been reading along with me over the years you can plainly recollect those times since I usually pick on some of the hymns of the past to help. Actually this has been a very good thing and the truth is that one could spend a lifetime searching out the song writer and the purpose of the the hymn. Many of the hymns relate to some specific circumstance in the life of the writer or someone close to them. The songs release a message of the comfort and love that God has for the those who have experience suffering. All of these hymns have one thing in common. Suffering, mourning and recovery and the sacrifice of the lips. Hebrews 13:15. The person who does not have God to comfort them will have an impossible time trying to surrender all the pain, all the anguish and all of, “what do I do next?” Since there is no one to surrender too! So many scriptures are running through my mind, which do I choose? How about the hymn instead. “All to Jesus I surrender, All to Him I freely give; I will ever love and trust Him, In His presence daily live”. One of the main reasons we fall short of the comfort that God intends for us is that we, fail to see that the Supremacy of Christ is sufficient for the day. Grace is that Jesus has; the Power, the Rank and the Authority to save, to rescue, to deliver and to protect you and me in every circumstance of life. Isaiah 43:10

CERTAIN PSALMS OF INTEREST

Psalm 37:7-8 Yes, one of the most blessed moments in any circumstance is to rest in the LORD. I know some would say that this is a lot easier said than done. We really need to stop lying to ourself over what is easy and what is not and listen to what God is saying in His Living Word. No one who knows God denies the truth that His Word is Living, do they?

If (and it is true) His Word Lives then it would be like asking a friend to make a decision about some specific event or thing in your life. You would like for that friend to give you an immediate answer, but in love for you they say. “Please, give me some time to think about your request and I will get back to you.” You might anxiously wait, but you should be at rest. You may even see another prosper and gain from your patient waiting. The trial of scheming, fretting and wrath during these waiting seasons can be aggressive, troubling and angersome.

Your friend has not forgotten to respond to your need, he or she has simply taken all things into consideration and based on love will react in a way that builds up your relationship. Now, your friend Jesus who is the Living Word. (John 15:9-17) Remember what the apostle Peter said in Second Epistle. 1 Peter 1:5-11. Faith in your Friend Jesus needs to grow. What better way is there to do that, but to REST in HIM?

The Devotional

Papa “J” and his thoughts?

The one who carries a heavy heart will often make light of it. At face value he or she can be bright and cheerful, but in the darkness of their heart there will be a critical grief. Proverbs 14:13 Guilt is a heavy burden, release it before it destroys you Proverbs 10:12

Charles Wesley wrote: “O for a thousand tongues to sing My great Redeemer's praise, The glories of my God and King, The triumphs of His grace” The song “O for a thousand tongues to sing” like most all of the old hymns has a wonderful message of Truth. Someone might say that messages of truth are reserved for the preacher and the pulpit. Someone else might argue that the old hymns should be retired and new songs be brought forth to carry the messages of the truth. Even another might say that only the Bible is inspired, not the old hymns, so what is the point? Glad you asked! Jesus never changes, Jesus is the same yesterday, today and forever. I do not know about you, but I find great hope in Hebrews 13:8. In fact; I find great joy in knowing that the grace of God that binds all of the theological doctrines together is also, the defining attribute of God that binds man to the faith of Christ for salvation. Ephesians 2:8-10 explains clearly that grace and faith are provided by God as a gift to everyone who believes. This doctrine then is THE foundational element of God. If it were not, then the theological foundations of the entire bible would crumble. Crumble happens when men, well meaning or not, bend a theology to fit their human agenda to control people. We are living in such a sub-dispensation as this. 1 Peter 3:1-9.

CERTAIN PSALMS OF INTEREST

Psalm 37:5-6 There are days that life really seems to be a struggle. Usually after a spiritual battle where the enemy (Satan) has taken a severe hit there seems to be a lot of opposing things going on in ones life. This is one major reason to pray for one another. When Satan attacks the pastor of a church, his attack affects the whole church and the burden to remove the attack can be very difficult.

Notice that these two verses of scripture focus on trusting God. In the face of danger we might fail to do that because the heavy weight of the attack can seem to be more than one can handle. Pastors who carry the burden of feeding the flock of God have this written on their faces. Evidence of tears, of spiritual struggle, of pain for the lost and a host of other weights that seek to squeeze out the joy of living for Christ.

In the Psalm we see that we are to commit our way to the LORD, literally the word commit means to, “Roll off, or to roll onto” the weight of being responsible for God's saints is very heavy, the pastor needs his disciples, his elders and his deacons to role all of these burdens off their leader and onto the Supremacy of Christ, daily. His Rank, His Authoriy and His Power is the same yesterday, today and forever. Satan stands no chance of victory! This will reinforce trust for the pastor and his congregation, also it will establish righteousness within the flock of God and justice will prevail. The bottom line, God's people will ensure that they are receiving the pure milk of the word. 1 Peter 1:22 through 2 Peter 2:1-3

A Look at the Book #369

The Devotional

Papa “J” and his thoughts?

Is it possible for man to plan to live forever? The pathway of all the living leads to death. Do you know anyone who has kept himself alive? There is One Jesus! But He died too! Yes, But He rose from the dead that you might live. Only, His way leads to Life. Proverbs 14:12 (John 11:25-27)

There is this one word that has attracted my attention, it is the word supremacy and it is not a word you hear of much these days except you may hear the word in a military setting from time to time. The dictionary defines the word as one who has superior rank, power and authority over a given person, place or object. For example; the man who builds a house has a superior authority over his hired laborer, has power to erect and build a house and ranks among his peers as a qualified carpenter. Yet his supremacy is not absolute, it is limited to factors to numerous to list. Also, one person may be an excellent rough carpenter who builds the frame and another may be a very good finished carpenter who is able to make the house enjoyable to live in. So here is the point! Mankind is said to be given the supremacy to live a civilized life of cultivation and preservation. Also to enjoy his Creator, to be satisfied with his wife and likewise for the wife to be satisfied with her husband. To reproduce children that are assets to the life ahead and for maintenance of the world around them. Psalm 127:1-5. Here is question plain and simple! Do you see us as a world of people living in the God ordained ministry of supremacy? If you said yes, then you have believed the lie of those who deny the Supremacy and return of Jesus Christ.

CERTAIN PSALMS OF INTEREST

Psalm 37:3-4 What are some of the things you plan on trusting today? The stock market, a co-laborer, your spouse, a good friend, the money in your pocket or even that next bottle of beer that you hope will calm your mind from all those details of life? These details find ways into our heart, do they not? So much so that we would worry about the next nickle that is lacking to purchase another moment of peace of mind.

Can this cycle of mistrust have a peaceful ending, is the any solution to this problem of anxiety in the human heart? There is, these couple of verses out of Psalm 37 lay out a perfect plan that works one hundred percent of the time. Trust in the LORD, and do good; Dwell in the land, and feed on His faithfulness. Delight yourself also in the LORD, and He shall give you the desires of your heart.

If you conclude that this action of trusting God is too simple, then consider this! What complicated thing or plan in this world around you has worked, lately! Socialized government including when to be medicated, when to die, when to live, when to work or when to play. When is it proper for a man to marry another man, or for a woman to marry another women. When is it the right time to tell the person next to you as you both defend a military position that you are a suicide bomber (DaDT), I mean (gay)! These things are not solutions to live, these are mandates to DIE!

A Look at the Book #368

A Look at the Book #368

by Jesse Abel

The Devotional

Papa “J” and his thoughts?

Wickedness reacts as if there is nothing else, so the wicked dig in and claim a permanent dwelling. The Righteous one across the street is willing to live in a tent, knowing full well that God has provided an everlasting or eternal kingdom for the upright. Proverbs 14:10

The year was 1981 and I was on a helicopter on the first leg of a journey home. I had just been plucked off of the submarine that I was stationed on. The pilots understood why I was going home so they did their very best to take my mind off the thoughts of my daughter of four years of age who had just been diagnosed with leukemia. (She would eventually go to be with the LORD at the age of 5 years and six months). The seats the pilots swiveled so they both turned to me and began talking. This was just after positioning their air ship on course to hit the upper middle section of a glacier. Of course, my seat would not turn and soon the mass of ice was all I could see out the front windows. About the time I should have reacted to a potential crash, the helicopter began rising and up and over the glacier we went. To their surprise I knew about the currents of air that rise upward at the face of cliffs such as the shear wall of ice in front of the helicopter. Distraction, this is the point so don't miss it! Satan! Do you believe that Satan exists and that he is alive – but deadly destructive? If you believe that Satan is a myth or a lie, or has never been a threat to you, then you are distracted from the truth and you are near the wall of a destructive power that will cause you to crash and burn. However, there is a very strong current of the grace of God, that will enable you to rise up to Jesus Christ. He alone will save you as He alone is the true resurrection and the life. Romans 1:16-17 John 11:25-27. Now you know and now you've no excuse, if you crash and burn it will be of your own choice.

CERTAIN PSALMS OF INTEREST

Psalm 37:1 We seem to worry about everything that trots across our brain, this also is a distraction. Then if we are wise and seek to stop the habit of worry, we end up worrying about nothing to worry over. There are at least two thoughts about how we worry. One: We worry about how evil things will endanger us, an Two: We worry with envy when we see that the evil is actually doing well and prospering.

Say! What is prospering evil anyway? Abortion, same sex marriage, poor economics in the public arenas of government. Gun control (a citizen is one who owns a gun, a slave is one who does not). Socialized health care. These are just some of the areas where Satan hangs his shingle of control. Also, moving evil closer to home. No husband or father figure in the home. A home that does not gather as a family in the evening for a supper meal and devotional time with God. This is evil.

Now that I've given you something to worry about, aren't you just tickled, warm and fuzzy and happy? Of course not. But look at Psalm 37:2 God's view of evil, the workers of iniquity and all who practice these things mentioned above are viewed as temporary. When this grass gets to high, God Himself will mow it down, be of good cheer as He has said, “I have overcome the world” we do not need to be scattered like sheep who have no master! John 16:32-33

A Look at the Book #367

The Devotional

Papa “J” and his thoughts?

I never understood this thought in Proverbs since my heart was full of selfish bitterness (sin) and sin was evident to everyone. Jesus changed my heart and replaced my sin with His Joy. I can only relate this to you, but Jesus can make JOY real to anyone, so let Him! Proverbs 14:10

The last submarine I was on before retiring was the USS Hyman G. Rickover (SSN-709). It was a Los Angeles Class Fast Attack that was launched from General Dynamics, Electric Boat Division in Groton, CT. in August of 1983. It was commissioned for the United States Navy in July of 1984 and placed in service. The submarine was placed on inactive duty in December 2007 and as a vessel to defend this country, it served 23 years. It will be totally non-existent by the year 2016. What is the point? “To everything there is a season, a time for every purpose under heaven” Please take the moment or two that it will take you to read the rest of this section of scripture in Ecclesiastes 3:1-15. Is this not an awesome section of scripture, I was reminded of it last night at Bible Study, notice again Ecclesiastes 3:11. This statement by Solomon is viewing the first eight verses without sin as a focal point, it is why he can say that everything is beautiful in it's proper time. Also, as he states, is that God has placed in the heart of mankind, ETERNITY! It may very well be that SIN has marred your focal point on eternity. Jesus died and rose again as the sacrificial LAMB to cleanse you and me from sin and restore eternity in our heart. This same Jesus is coming again, not as the LAMB but as the KING and of His Kingdom there shall be no end. So the question! What's in your heart? SIN or ETERNITY? Hebrews 9:23-28; 2 Peter 1:11

CERTAIN PSALMS OF INTEREST

Psalm 1:4 How many of us know that there are two major judgments in eternity? We will look briefly at them. One: 2 Corinthians 5:10-13 The judgment seat of Christ and it is the judgment of focus here in Psalm 1:4. Two: The Great White Throne judgment of God, Revelation 20:11-15 where the face of heaven and earth fled away from, which is focused later in Psalm 1:6.

Psalm 1:5 Ungodly people exist in time where heaven and earth have temporal purpose and meaning to God and man. Did you know that a strong wind always occurs during very large fires. The heat of a fire is the generator of this wind. Storms generated by weather fronts of hot and cold air are good examples of kicking up the wind.

But I would like for us to notice what the Living Word of God has to say about how the ungodly will not be able to stand after the judgment of God at the Great White Throne. The apostle Peter in 2 Peter 3:10-13 explains this which is often avoided in current contemporary pulpits. Psalm 1:6 “For the LORD knows the way of the righteous, (is this you?) but the way of the ungodly shall perish, (is this you?) The way of the righteous is Jesus Christ. John 11:25-27 and John 14:6.

A Look at the Book #366

The Devotional

Papa “J” and his thoughts?

The simplest way to mock at sin is to ignore the word, so here is what I believe! Sinners do not mentioned sin in their public life, because guilt will not permit them to speak the word, this too is a lie of the lips, a sin of mocking their Creator. Proverbs 14:9

Things that we take as common place in our life can have serious complications when we are lax in our understanding of them. I see many lazy people today and sometimes I am one of them. I would like to take a moment and break down a day. Eight hours of sleep, two hours for three meals and maybe two more hours of relaxation or recreation. Perhaps leaving twelve hours of a productive life per day. (That is if you are a king or queen who has all of the preparation work done for them)! And of course none of this time management talk takes into account, raising children, walking the dog or other circumstances that work a way into the time at hand. Since less than one percent of the world population are kings and queens, most of us fail at time management. Add a little neighborhood gossip while walking the dog. Sit a little too long watching the soap opera or game show, or stand a bit too long scoffing at some recent incident. And your day is a ruin. Now if this were just one day... we might be able to manage, but the truth is that America does not run on coffee. America today is idle (unproductive) expending valuable time, walking in ungodly influences. Standing with sinners of idolatry and sitting with scorners of complacency. Every day we have the opportunity to change, to repent, to acknowledge our Creator, but every day we do not. Thus Americans are not blessed, we are an unhappy people without purpose.

CERTAIN PSALMS OF INTEREST

Psalm 1:2 Ask yourself some questions about God today. Are you delighted to be looking into His Law? Or, do you anticipate the time of day when you will be involved with talking to Him and pondering His thoughts about you? If not, take the necessary moment in time and read Psalm 139. God has thoughts about YOU, good thoughts; don't let your day pass by without this knowledge of His care for you.

Psalm 1:3 People who hear the calling of the God will find that He will strengthen them. 1 Corinthians 1:26-27 says that we are not mighty or noble. Yet this Psalm says that God will makes us like a tree planted near life giving water. There are some living trees that have been growing and producing for hundreds of years. The Sequoia sempervirens , the California Redwood Tree lives 12 to 18 hundred years.

So, God does call for you to be saved from this generation of ungodly, sinning and scornful people. If you are thinking about this seriously then consider this. God has done all of what you need already through the Blood of His Son, Jesus Christ. So as He is calling you, you must be willing to confess the LORD Jesus with your mouth and believe that God allowed Him to die for your sins. You must also believe that He is Risen from the dead. Your response to this is very important, who ever calls upon the Name of the LORD will be saved. Romans 10:8-13.

A Look at the Book #365

The Devotional

Papa “J” and his thoughts?

One way to understand if your life is deceitful is to know if what you said is a lie, and then believe; that others will believe you. Knowing this is a first step to repent and become prudent! But many will not! Proverbs 14:8

One of the easiest way to destroy something or someone is to complain, scoff or malign. In other words... open your mouth, when it should remain shut. Since most of my references come from the Living word of God, we'll take a look at what He has to say about the working of the tongue. In the epistle of James, the half brother of Jesus talks about the untamed tongue. James 3:1-12, even to say, “I can control my tongue is a lie”. James 3:8 But no man can tame the tongue. It is an unruly evil, full of deadly poison. The point! Whether male or female reading this, you already know what I am saying here because your mind has already made the decision to praise this verse of scripture or scoff at it. I certainly do not need to know what you did, it really is between you and the LORD who created you, and yes He already knows your heart in the matter. The tongue has enough power to set on fire a forest. Where does the tongue get this ability? The Living Word of God says that this kind of fire has it's origin in hell so just imagine. Every time you lie, complain, scoff or malign your tongue visits hell to pick up enough fire to turn a friend, an enemy or loved one into a useless piece of cinder. How do we overcome? Jesus said clearly throughout His ministry on earth that the kingdom of heaven was at hand. Come to Him and let Him set you free from this adulterous kingdom of idolatry. All ungodliness is selfish idolatry. Matthew 12:38-42

CERTAIN PSALMS OF INTEREST

Psalm 1:1 What is your purpose in life? Life has a purpose but the number of people who know this is few. The psalm starts out with, happiness as a goal, “Blessed is the man” The purpose of life is happiness. If you are not happy today, then listen up! Happiness cannot co-exist with wickedness, with sin or with scoffing! Male and female alike must understand, God is our only source of happiness and failing to apply this will lead to a life of emptiness. Psalm 1:4-6

You and I well know in our little circle of influence where all the ungodly people hang out. Do you willing go to these places? One of those places can be very close. Just let your fingers do the walking to the website where ungodliness is. It is the same with standing among sinners. Do you stand with sinners as they participate in acts of sin and what about a scornful countenance? You really do not have to say anything, many people scorn with their eyes, frown with their face or even shuffle our scorn with feet.

Lets go back to happiness, I like to be happy, don't you? There may be a certain pleasure associated with ungodliness, sin and scorn, but it is very brief and the consequences can be deadly. On the other hand, real happiness does not go away and it spreads all over the people around you. Psalm 23:5 states clearly that happiness comes for our Creator. Blessing comes from the LORD and the oil of gladness overflows from the cup of blessing He fills. Don't go away, there is more tomorrow, that is if the LORD continues to tarry.

Papa “J” and his thoughts?

Can a fool speak with knowledge and wisdom? Yes, but only if the fool acknowledges that Jesus Christ is the LORD of his or her life. What a glorious difference Jesus has made in my life! Proverbs 14:7

Have you not noticed commercials lately? There are more commercials on the current media carriers then there are programs to watch and there are more programs that promote sex, hard core comedy and violence then ever before. Even commercials are full of improper acts of violence and sex. Most would say... “that is normal, for the days in which we live!” But I tell you something that is not a secret. Written over nineteen hundred years ago by the apostle Peter are these words. Knowing this first: that scoffers will come in the last days, walking according to their own lusts, and saying, “Where is the promise of His coming?” 2 Peter 3:3-4a. Are you one who is scoffing this very moment as you read this? It is so painful to see people scoffing at God, rejecting His love and laughing at eternity as if there is no existence after the grave. The flood that covered the world, was nearly six thousand years ago, most young people today have never heard of the flood that wiped out the world's civilization. In those days people were doing exactly as they are doing today. Also as that hour in history was not known to the world then to be upon them. So it is with the soon coming Day of the LORD, but you can be warned and you can read all about it. It really is laced in the current news, the current television programming and even in the commercials. Or you can also read a more accurate account in 2 Peter 3:10-13.

CERTAIN PSALMS OF INTEREST

For the time being I thought we could look at some of the Psalms. When I first came to know that God loved me and had a plan for my life there were a few sections of the Bible that God placed in front of my face. The Book of Job, believed to have been written by Moses, but really the author is unknown; Psalm 1, the writer also is unknown; Psalm 37; 38; 51; 90 and 139. These are Psalms of David except Psalm 90 that was written by Moses. We will look at these Psalms!

Scoffers and sinners are people we do not hear much about these days, so if you are a thinking person, you must ask yourself this question. Why do I not hear (if I go to church) the man behind the pulpit talk about scoffing at God and Sin? The truth is that many churches today treat scoffing and sin as if it does not exist. Well now wait just a minute! If that is true, then maybe this is just a blight on the harvest of people on the planet and soon people like me will have nothing to talk about because the blight will be removed by the reformed theology of humanism.

Psalm One will reveal to us that the scoffer and the ungodly will be removed along with the sin. Also Psalm One will reveal that there is a way for the righteous in God to go and that God is the only one who knows the way. He has revealed that way to the righteous and if you do not know the way, then you are traveling down the wrong road. Psalm 1:6 and John 14:1-6 explains the right road.
