A Look at the Book #375

The Devotional

Papa “J” and his thoughts?

A person does not haphazardly fall into evil, they actually invent each episode, leading themself astray. The one who plans to do good and follows through, will inherit a blessing from God. Proverbs 14:20-21

Yesterday coming home from church we were traveling on a road with the speed limit of fifty miles per hour. We were at that speed and talking about the events at the church and suddenly from a side street a car darted out in front of us. The car could not have been more then ten to fifteen yards from us. “Oh no!” was my reaction and my wife screamed! I was certain that the impact was our next event. I hit the brakes and swrived to my left, nothing was coming from the opposite direction and one pickup was waiting at the intersection on the other side to come out. We slid nearly to a stop and the other car moved closer, I released the braking action and we rolled beyond the impact and I moved back into our lane of traffic. We were spared of a major event and God's hand was responsible. My explanation does not fit well with the moment since the whole of the matter was that a collison was imminient, outside of God's intervention we would have collided. Not only does God have perfect knowledge of everything in the lives of His saints, He also has a perfect plan for them as well and no harm will come to them if the plan is not yet completed. Psalm 139:1-24 is the sum of the matter, since there were even some negative thoughts about the person in the other vehicle.

CERTAIN PSALMS OF INTEREST

Psalm 37:16-20 The joy and hope that belong to the saints of God is in the eyes of the world an intangible thing. But to the saints these blessings hold eternal tangible reward. Why? Because, with being godly there is great gain. This is what the apostle Paul has to say in 1 Tim 6:6. you see error and greed run in the hearts of ungodly people. All that they have will perish and since they have no joy or hope they have pierced themselves through with many sorrows. 1 Tim 6:3-10.

Can you wrap your soul around this thought concerning the possibility of having a “better resurrection”. Hebrews 11:35 You do know that when you die or when you are translated into heaven that God calls this event a resurrection to life and not death. God is not the God of the dead but He is God of the Living. Matthew 22:23-33, you know what is interesting to me about this section of scripture. Verse 33, when the many people heard this, they were astonished as His teaching. Wow! Inheritance forever, just as Psalm 37:18 promises. What is better than that?

Shall fear of famine, tribulation, distress, tribulation, persecution, nakedness or death interfere with the joy and hope we have in God? The answer is imphatic “NO”. The question again is “WHY”? Because the love of Christ Jesus our LORD controls us. Just as our inheritance as children of God is everlasting, so is God's everlasting love. Romans 8:31-39.
