All
the men in the book of Job seem knowledgeable of the power of God and it seems
that the character of God’s Omni potent, presents and wisdom is somewhat
understood. I think that if you take this wisdom away from them they would be
like the rest of the world around them and that would be heathenistic. Job the
man suffers beyond what we can imagine and it brings to mind the One who
suffered more than Job. The LORD suffered over Jerusalem and the world in which
He created. The extend of God’s suffering is yet to be understood by man and
yet again this suffering is explained to the readers of the Holy Word of God.
It began when Darkness (spiritual deception) fell upon the earth, Genesis 3:6-7/Luke
10:18 and will be relieved when He puts an end to Satan, sin and death in the
New Heavens and Earth. Jesus is coming again, take a look… Revelation 22:7-16.
Challenge: Job 25 -
26
Of course these three men
understand some of the characteristics of mankind as well, they say to Job that
he has sinned against God, wronged his fellow man and gained his wealth by
fraud, waste and abuse. Like the government of our day Job has isolated himself
from God by surrounding himself with every kind of evil known to man and also
gives hearty approval of all who do likewise. In other words Judges 21:25 and
Romans 1:32 is how Job is viewed by these men.
Now, for the most part when you and
I suffer some of those who know us may think the same, What if someone were to
call you a maggot today and your dad nothing more than a worm? Psalm 22:6 in the
prophetic words of David, Jesus thought of Himself as a worm of a man because
of the scorn and hatred of the people (world) around Him, so don’t be cruel, be
humble like Job.
Job’s reply to Bildad is good, “How
have you helped the powerless and delivered the weak? What sort of counsel and
advice have you offered to those without wisdom? We saints of God seem to have
all the answers when we are talking to other saints, but place us in the midst
of unbelieving circles and our mind races with “words unspoken” and when we
come away from those moments in time we say things in our heart like. “What an
opportunity and I said nothing!”
Some of the best wisdom regarding
the Creation is expressed in the Book of Job, the understanding of these men of
3,500 years ago, give or take a year or five that God is the Creator of the
heavens and the earth stands in our face today as a testimony that many of us
in the world have rejected. Shame, it is a shame that mankind today has lost
the way to see the beauty of God through Creation. Today it is unnatural but common
for men and women worship the creature more than the Creator.
With Bildad’s short comments of
chapter 25, we hear the last of Job’s three friends, yet there is another
friend present. How long he has been there is revealed in the knowledge he
refers to as to hearing there conversations. He has remained silent since he
feels that he is but a youngster and should be silent. But he will open his
mouth and speak. Actually he will have more to say than the others. I am
excited about the Book of Job and I hope you are as well.
