The
Devotional
Comment:
When is the last time you looked back in time and said to
yourself, “My goodness I have forgotten that!” For me this happens far too
much, now don’t get it wrong, some things are better forgotten as the apostle
Paul says forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to
those things which are ahead. Why? Because we have not yet apprehended so in
this case we must press forward to the upward call of God in our Savior Jesus
Christ. Philippians 3:13-14. But far too often I will remember that I have
forgotten many of the nuggets of gold, silver and precious stones that I have mined
out of the Living Word of God and this, this pains my heart. For example!
Devotional:
Bless the LORD, O my soul and all that is within me, bless
His Holy Name! Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all of His benefits. –
Psalm 103:1
God forgives our sins, He heals our diseases, He redeems our
life from hell and He crowns us with lovingkindness and TENDER mercy. Also He
feeds us with good things and He alone keeps us healthy. He establishes us in
His Righteousness through the Blood of His Son and He makes His ways known to
throughout history. The LORD is merciful and full of grace.
Are you not glad that He alone is slow to anger and His
anger does not boil over any one of us again and again. In other words, He does
not deal with us according to our sins. Nor does He punish us according to our
iniquities. For as far as the East is from the West, so far He has removed our
sins from us. Psalm 103:2-14, God is our merciful Father and our Great High
Priest who forgives our transgressions. As our Creator He does not forget that
we are but DUST. He has redeemed us by the shed Blood of His Son and given us eternal life by the resurrection of His Son. Praise the LORD O my Soul and all that is within me, praise HIM.
Now you can read on in this Psalm, I encourage you to do so.
But I must be moving on this morning I am having a busy day and I got up late.
God is our refuge in all circumstances of life. Remember, we forget a lot
because we are but dust. But God on the other hand is calling us to NOT forget
all of His benefits.
