The Devotional - The LORD our Righteousness

The Devotional
Comment: It is easy to be an alarmist in these days in our nation; we have home grown terrorist, the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) and lastly a trouble nation that commercially promotes SIN and hides behind governing laws that allow for such things to exist openly. There is no need to go into detail since if you are REDEEMED by the Blood of the LAMB, sin is appalling and if you are not redeemed, sin is relevant. The point… on either side of this, we all know what SIN is, so we will spiritually avoid it at all costs, or we will literally acquire it at all costs.

Devotional: Okay, some would agree with me and some no doubt do not, but the Redeemed (that remnant of Believers) in our land have the POWER to change the direction of this nation. Politics and money do not change a nations’ direction, God alone through the prayerful requests of His children will. The Prophet Jeremiah suffered and wept more than once in his prophesies concerning Judah as he sought to bring the remnant of God’s Redeemed to understand that it is God (YHWH in Hebrew) who fights their national battles.

This very same God who delivered Judah back into the land through, Zerubbabel, Ezra and Nehemiah. See Jeremiah 33:1-26 is the same yesterday, today and forever. He can and will turn our nation back to Him if we call upon Him. He will do the great and mighty things in releasing the grip of SIN from this nation, but we need to call out to Him. In Jeremiah 32:26-27 we read these words. Then the word of the LORD came to Jeremiah, saying, “Behold, I am the LORD, the God of all flesh. Is there anything too hard for ME?”

In Jeremiah 33:3 we read “call unto ME, and I will answer you and show you great and mighty things which you do not know”. Brothers and sisters, we are the redeemed of God, we have been purchased by the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world. With our sins removed as far as the East is from the West (Psalm 103:11-14) and because His mercy endures forever we can call on Him and He will answer because He remembers that we are dust. So my challenge to all of us who are the Redeemed to call out to our Father and wait as Judah did and in Jeremiah 33:16 we too will be able to proclaim, “THE LORD OUR RIGHTEOUSNESS!”
