The Devotional - Judgment is not fiction

The Devotional
Comment: The Books of Proverbs and Ecclesiastes written by King Solomon give detail on living life under the sun. Proverbs is “instructive” while Ecclesiastes is “Practical” or we can say Proverbs is training or skill in living and Ecclesiastes is the applied result. Man under the sun has no future but to eat, drink and be merry all the days of his life. However from God’s view of human life from above the sun man’s duty is as Solomon says in Ecclesiastes 12:13-14 – Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: “Fear God and keep His commandments, for this is whole duty of man. For God will bring every work into judgment, including every secret thing. Whether good or evil.

Devotional: We often agree that the Word of the Living God is instructive and that His commandments are good and to be obeyed. In our heart where we dwell our human conscious says yes and our mouth agrees, but the mind of the flesh ‘that no one sees but we obey’ says “no, I will do it later”. These are the things done in secret and these are the things God will judge. The scripture is plain, James 4:17 – Therefore, to him who knows to do good and does not do it, to him it is SIN.

To illustrate this a bit more, here is something to think about, “Are you a person who always response with a soft answer, or do you become critical of things other people hold dear to them?” Notice Proverbs 15:1 – A soft answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger. Do you go around stirring up anger? If you do this, God will judge this action. What you think to be good and instructive by pushing your agenda is actually evil and destructive.

Proverbs 15:2 – The tongue of the wise uses “knowledge in the right way, we all have knowledge of life” but if not used correctly the mouth belonging to YOU will gush forth with foolish chatter. Or as said in Proverbs 12:23 – the prudent conceals his foolish knowledge, but the FOOL’s heart is at the ready to proclaim its own foolishness. This work will be judged in eternity whether it was good or evil. I like Proverbs 14:1 too – The wise woman builds her home, but the foolish pulls it down with her hands.

The Living Word of the Living God is not a ‘religion’ of rules developed by man for man to live by, the Living Word of the Living God are His commands for each of us to live ‘rightly’ before Him. To seek to live and be ‘right’ in the eyes of man, this work will be judged by God as a work in VAIN. For God gives wisdom and knowledge and joy to a man (person) who is good in His sight; but to the sinner He gives the work of gathering and collecting, that he may give to him who is good before God. This is also vanity and grasping for the wind. Ecclesiastes 2:26.
