The
Devotional
Comment:
Do you know that God is Holy? Now you are thinking; “What?” “Of
course I know that God is Holy, why ask a question such as this? Good come
back! How is your walk in the LORD? I am not saying this to upset you or
pretend that I am holier than thou. There does not exist in scripture a
theology of “relative spirituality or relative righteousness” yet some pretend
that it is so. God’s Word is “yea and amen!” ABSOLUTE. Notice if you will 1 Peter
1:13-25. The Word of God is incorruptible, it lives and it abides forever. We
have gone over these things before, but I think as for me I could simply say
that I am a forgetful doer. Not as the apostle James says in James 1:21-27. I
hear the Word clearly but I fail at times to do the Word. This transfer of
hearing and doing is what we will talk about today.
Devotional:
The redeemed in the United States of America today are
reaping what has been sown by the clergy and pulpit thumpers all across this
great land for more than sixty years. It is no surprise that our children and
grandchildren have turned to secular humanism for answers to life. Secular humanism
has a better training agenda, it has but one priority, one doctrine and one
goal. The agenda, the priority and the goal is destruction of life which began
with the fall of Lucifer, see Isaiah 14:12-17. The focus on “I did it my way” is
not fiction, it is the adopted human way of life.
When we hear about Jesus, about His death and His
resurrection and believe this message of redemption. God’s Will is to remove us
from the domain of adopted darkness and to place us into a far better adoption.
God willingly places us in the Righteousness of His Son, we are Redeemed
through the blood of the LAMB, John 1:29 and 1 Peter 1:19. We are positionally placed
in Christ, we are now His purchased child, we have Sonship by means of adoption
by the Will and Spirit of God, see Romans 8:12-17.
This is not something we do not know, it is basic FAITH in
the TRUTH of God. For the saved of God through this faith we have eternity with
God. There is however a failure on the part of many believers to live a
separated life of holiness to the LORD. The Word of God endures, but we often
fail to be holy. The Command of God is “Be Holy for I am HOLY!” God does not
say, “I am HOLY, be holy when you get to be with me in eternity”. He says be
HOLY as I am HOLY, Right NOW! 1 Peter 1:16, Leviticus 11:44-45, Leviticus 19:2
and Leviticus 20:7
In Leviticus 11:44-45 God reminds the Israelites that He
took them out of Egypt (evil) for the purpose of teaching them to be holy. He
says in verse 45 that it is the law of every living creature to be set apart to
God’s Holiness. The birds and animals of the kingdom agree to God’s holiness so
should we His children. As a congregation of the children of God, God again
reminds us to “be holy” Leviticus 19:2 and in Leviticus 20:7 He says that we
have the integrity and responsibility to consecrate or set ourselves in a
position of holiness before the LORD.
The nation’s churches today are far away from this command of
God, we sing songs about holiness but our hands are filled with the filth of
secular humanism, our children see this and follow that filth. We sing songs
about being redeemed by the blood of the LAMB and all the while our hearts are
filthy with the aimless conduct of sinful man, rather than holding dear to our
SOUL the precious blood of the LAMB – 1 Peter 1:18-19. So the bottom line is we
know, yes we know about being HOLY.
Yet this knowledge is not applied to our SOUL that is this;
in our everyday walk about in life our HEART does not agree with God’s Holiness
because the truth of His Word is not at work in our SOUL where Christ is to be
LORD (set apart), see Romans 13:11-14. What I am saying is simple, what we KNOW
we do not DO because knowing is not FAITH, faith if you are redeemed is the
transfer of the knowledge God to TRUSTING in God from the soul. Trust is not
singing worship songs that stir up our emotions, trust is agree with what God
says to do and do it, “be HOLY for I am HOLY”.
