The Devotional
– 1492 – God alone is Absolute Truth
Psalm
119:137-144 –
Righteous
are You, O Lord, and upright are Your judgments. Your
testimonies, which You have commanded, are righteous and very faithful. My
zeal has consumed me, because my enemies have forgotten Your words. Your
word is very pure; therefore Your servant loves it. I
am small and despised, yet I do not forget Your precepts. Your
righteousness is an everlasting righteousness, and Your law is truth. Trouble
and anguish have overtaken me, yet Your commandments are my delights. The
righteousness of Your testimonies is everlasting; give me understanding, and I
shall live.
Comments and Challenges:
The world is full of experts on relativism. At first I
thought that the word might not exist and was hoping that it did not; however I
did find this definition. a) A theory
that knowledge is relative to the limited nature of the mind and the conditions
of knowing. b) a view that ethical truths depend on the individuals and groups
holding these truths. (Webster’s Ninth New Collegiate Dictionary).
Also I thought that it would not be fair to the word
“relativism” if there were no such word as absolutism… so guess what? Here is
the definition from the same dictionary on “absolutism” a) A political theory
that absolute power should be vested in one or more rulers. b) a government by
an absolute ruler or authority.
For me, neither of these definitions; even though “theories”
are worthy of the paper and ink wasted to print as these do not reveal a clear
understanding of TRUTH or POWER. Nor do
these express what could or could not be RIGHT or WRONG. With this
I decided that a further or deeper investigation into the secular world of
WORDS would be necessary and truly I was beginning to feel as though I was
wading through someone’s backyard cesspool.
The word “justice was linked to the word righteousness”
I thought too quickly and said great; but soon found that this was only to say
that in a religious definition of these two words that any decision religiously;
like being free of guilt because of sin was an outraged sense of morality or
justice. So I looked up “Outraged” a) an act that violates accepted standards
of behavior or taste. b) a deficiency to propriety or good taste, or exceeding
the limits of what is “USUAL”. Well, it is outrageous to think otherwise since
forgiveness does go beyond the usual.
Psalm

The
Judgments of God are “straight up” and Righteous, God’s Justice does not bend
to the left or the right. The Testimonies of God reveal His faithfulness and
righteousness to all of mankind and the disappointment of my word search
reveals that man has purposely laid aside God’s absolutes and the world has
forgotten His Words. Men and women, let me just say once again (are you
listening) God’s Word is VERY PURE and this servant loves (I Love) His Word.
Also, I have determined to be small and despised among the nations secular
definitions of right and wrong, I do not want to forge (counterfeit) or forget
His Precepts.
The
Righteousness of God has only ONE definition; “get this” it is an “EVERLASTING RIGHTEOUSNESS” as is the
LAW of GOD so is the TRUTH of GOD. – ETERNALLY fixed as a STATUTE of GOD,
unbroken by man and secured in Christ’s Resurrection from the grave.
Understanding and trusting the gospel of God is more than the outrageous
doctrines of man and his religions. Righteousness, Justice, the Law, the
Commandments, the Statutes, the Precepts and the Testimonies of God are
revealed by the grace of God to bring joy and confidence to those who love Him,
John 14:23-24.
