The
Devotional
Comment:
Are you a permanent resident on this earth? As we think
about the answer a couple of thoughts ought to surface. (1) In this body of
flesh we are not! If we are saved by God’s grace we are travelers to a permanent
home prepared for us by the Living Christ/Messiah – John 14:1-6. But still (2)
if we are saved by God’s grace we are travelers with the LORD Christ/Messiah
when He returns to the earth to set up His millennial kingdom – Revelation 19:11-16
and where Christ/Messiah is, there we will be also. And (3) if you are not
saved by God’s grace, you are as well a temporary resident on earth – Matthew 25:31-46.
So The Christ/Messiah has prepared a home for the devil and you also, it is
called “hell” and the “Lake of fire” called also the eternal second death, you
will travel with Satan to this place of torment – Revelation 20:11-15.
Devotional:
You have read these words of mine before, “I love the Word
of God!” through the Word of God I am comforted with His love, joy, peace,
patience, goodness, kindness, gentleness, faithfulness and self-control –
Galatians 5:22-23 in my life. And you would say; “Is this not the outworking of
the Spirit of God in the personal life of the Spirit filled believer?” My
answer is “yes exactly, how else could we ever understand and express the fullness
of God’s Word!”
1 Peter 1:1-2 – Peter, an apostle of Jesus Christ. To the
pilgrims (travelers, sojourners or those of a temporary residence). Elect
according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, in the sanctification of the
Spirit, for obedience and sprinkling of the blood of Jesus Christ. Grace and
Peace be multiplied. The apostle of course is writing to the Jewish dispersion
caused by the tyranny of the Roman Empire, but there is wonderful application
for the present day saint as we are increasing aware of growing persecution of
the people of God these days.
1 Peter 1:3 – with the Righteousness of Christ as a
breastplate and applying the belt of Truth our feet can remain shod in the
gospel of peace, why? Because the “shield of faith” is protecting you and me
from the fiery darts of the evil persecution of those who are on their way to
the Lake of fire, the second death. Galatians 6:10-20. God has called each of
us to be “steadfast, immovable and always abounding in the work (calling) of
God – 1 Corinthians 15:58. In the Father’s abundant mercy and through the
resurrection of His Son Jesus/Messiah, He has made us “alive again” to a second
life. What joy, what peace and what love God has poured out on those who love
Him through the Living Word – John 1:1-14.
