Righteousness, do you long for it?

The Devotional
Comment: Have you ever had a “double take” moment in time when you thought you recognized someone of the past or present and it turned out that the person was not who you thought they were. This is a serious problem in Christendom TODAY! Religion these days is simply a mask in that many who claim a relationship with God are FALSE. These are men and women who project a form of godliness, who profess to have some personal connection with God who leads them to various dreams and visions. These people prey on ignorant people, some of whom are truly children of God. They espouse their dreams and visions on those who are ignorant of the Righteousness of Christ. This is not the righteousness of Christ that these people project, notice 2 Peter 1:16-21 God is speaking through the apostle Peter as Peter remembers a True vision, “This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased”. So the prophetic word of God, “all of it is fulfilled in Christ the LORD” nothing and I mean NOTHING can be added to it.

Devotional: Taking a second look at the Living Word of God is what we will do this morning. Notice that the writer who could be Jeremiah, Daniel or some of the less known prophets like Gad who is call King David’s seer in 2 Chronicles 29 or Iddo another seer also found in 2 Chronicles 9:29. Now I am not suggesting that either of these men wrote Psalm 119, I am simply suggesting that since the human author is unknown, the real important thought is that it is the Word of the Living God who alone is the Author of all Scripture and as quoted yesterday in Psalm 119:160 “The entirety of Your Word is TRUTH, and every one of Your Righteous judgments endures forever”.

Then again later in the same Psalm he writes in verse 172 “My tongue shall speak of Your Word, for all Your commandments are RIGHTEOUSNESS”. My thoughts go (with the help of the Concordance) to 2 Corinthians 5:1-21 how the apostle Paul records that we are to be reconciled to God in the Righteousness of Christ. Thus when we look at the Old Testament and the Statutes, Judgments, Commandments, Precepts, Laws and Testimonies recorded there we are looking at the Righteous Person of Christ whom we are to put on and make no provision for the flesh to fulfill its lust, Romans 13:14.
