The Devotional - Sin

The Devotional
Comment: The staggering drunk and the wavering sinner have much in common, they fret and worry (wander and stagger) in their opposition to God, their Creator – Proverbs 19:3. Sin is a perversion and NO ONE, not even the unconverted likes that word. When you say to someone; “you are perverted” it is like a slap in the face, even to the mildest of sinner. Sinners like to believe that they are right in their own eyes; therefore they “fret” at every warning of God regarding their conduct. This also reminds me of a section of Romans 1:18-21. God has revealed Himself to all men, women and children (Psalm 19:1-6) and while professing to be wise they willingly darken their heart running from one sin to the next until they change what they know about God into a corruptible image. To pervert is to change the course, or to lead astray from the KNOWN way. When perversion happens, it does not happen by accident, it is a deliberate and cognizant act to stand against what is known to be TRUTH.

Devotional: Abandonment does not start with faith. Unfaithful people have but one thing fall away from, being “right and wrong”. Life begins for everyone with norms and standards of right and wrong (good and evil) so apostasy (abandonment) begins at a very young age, it begins at the age of accountability when what is known to be right is turned away from to do wrong. As people grow and become adult in their thinking they continue to pervert their norms and standards of right and wrong until their conscience is seared. This form of apostasy is from the natural mind and continues until God turns these individuals over to this abandonment to live a base life of human evil, meaning that all that is good is abandoned.

There is another form of apostasy is called religion, this is when people seek to please God with self-effort. This also is an abandonment from norms and standards of the knowledge of right and wrong, these folks have some sense of TRUTH but rely on human effort to please God and they establish their own criteria of what is right and wrong, this is abandonment to live a base life of human good, meaning that these folks seek to please God with their selfish efforts (works) to please God, God is not pleased, just a brief reading of Malachi will help understand this.

Finally there is another form of apostasy, those who know God, who are sanctified by the Blood of Christ, those who abandon the gospel of God, those who do not remain faithful to God and His TRUTH. The epistle of Jude speaks clearly of this abandonment and its effects on the Church of Jesus Christ. All forms apostasy run strong in the United States of America these days. Apostates very effective in diverting human life and children of God away from TRUTH. Apostates are the root of all human good and human evil, many walk our streets daily and like the devil, these are roaring lions looking for someone to devour. Paganism the religion of the apostate.

Now to Him who is able to keep you from stumbling, and to present you “faultless” in the presence of His glory with exceeding “joy”. To God our Savior (Jesus) through whom alone is wise. Be glory and majesty, Dominion and Power, both now and forever, AMEN. Jude 1:24-25.
