The Devotional - I am large and in charge

The Devotional
Comment: Anyone will tell you that when I pray for this country of ours and our military forces that I will sometimes weep over the eroding Constitution, Statutes and Laws of our Land of the free and Home of the brave. The enactment of military policies introduced to uphold the Constitution and defend the Nation against all domestic and foreign enemies has changed our military force and effect into a “daycare center” for every sort of evil known to mankind. Those shameful citizens in areas of life that were once closet events of idolatrous and perverted acts are now flaunting slogans like. “I am large and it charge”! I say, “Shame on this country and shame on me, shame on you and shame on our neighbors”. Before the eyes of the LORD we are spiritually blind and lame. As a nation we are full of idolatry and immorality. Also I know this; “that if you are reading this from an idolatrous or immoral heart, you also know this is true and shame on you as well” – Romans 1:25-27.

Devotional: During the years of 627 and 586 BC the prophet Jeremiah was called by God to preach to “backslidden Judah” the southern kingdom. Israel made up of 10 tribes of the Jews, also called the northern kingdom had been destroyed and disbursed when Assyria defeated the north in 722BC. In 740 BC Isaiah the prophet began warning the nation of judgment when King Uzziah died, see Isaiah 6:1-13. Now, getting back to Jeremiah.

Jeremiah was called the weeping prophet, he was a Levitical priest who served Judah in the territory of Benjamin. He was a young man at the time of his Holy calling from God. When I read how the LORD God reached out with His hand and touched Jeremiah’s mouth and said. “See now, I have put my words in your mouth. Today I appoint you over the nations and kingdoms to uproot and to tear down, to destroy and overthrow, to build and to plant”. I say to myself, we need a Jeremiah or an Isaiah in our day here in the United States of America. Men whose lips are anointed with the Power and Holiness of God.

One of Jeremiah’s favorite charges against Judah was that her spiritual condition before God was “backslidden” he used this expression 13 times in 52 chapters. For example Jeremiah 3:6 KJV – The LORD said also unto me in the days of Josiah the king. Hast thou seen that which backsliding Israel hath done? She has gone upon every high mountain and under every green tree, and there hath played the harlot. (Meaning that Judah, like her sister Israel has become backslidden (FAITHLESS) and was now adulterously worshipping with the gods of other nations).

Time after time, God who through His FAITHFUL prophets reached out to the nation to change their ways and return to Him. Yet Israel, like this nation of ours hardened their hearts to the upward call of victory in Christ. As I have said, I am not a Prophet, nor am I a Priest with a choking collar, but I am a child of God saved by grace through faith in Jesus Christ. He has spoken! And He speaks through His remnant of saints daily. He says, turn at His rebuke to an unfaithful (backslidden) peoples like our nation and see if I will not pour out a blessing of healing
.
Hebrews 1:1-2 – GOD, who at sundry times and in divers manners spoke in time past unto the fathers by the prophets, Hath in these last days spoken unto us by His Son, who He hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also He made the worlds. (Take heed men and women of idolatry and immorality, the future is in God’s Hands. HE ALONE IS LARGE AND HE ALONE IS IN CHARGE.
