The Devotional

Comment: State of the Union, I suppose that many of us watched as it is the patriotic responsibility of all Americans. Each of us; men, women and children share in common, a vast Country that contains resource and opportunity for all. All of what the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA offers to its citizens is not found in politics, a freedom that is REAL is not found in any one man or one woman, or any party group bent in one direction of conservatism or liberalism. Freedom is not found by a secularized “we the people” but it will only be found by a people who seek liberty and justice for all by returning to the One and Only TRUE GOD. By humble prayer, by nationally confessing the sin of the nation, by confessing our own personal sin, and by understanding that the freedoms we want can only come through our Creator who is and who will always be… THE LORD JESUS CHRIST – even so, “Come LORD Jesus”.

• Hebrews 1:4 NKJV having become so much better than the angels, as He has by inheritance obtained a more excellent name than they.

Hebrews 9:23 is an interesting verse, if you read the contents of Hebrews 9. Jesus left His Perfect abode in heaven, for an earthly sanctuary. His entry into our world was NOT one made with the hands of man. Yes it was by direction from God and given to Moses. Certainly this covenant was established with ordinances of divine worship and truly the tabernacle and later the temple was built in “by direction”. But in all of that it was and is flawed since it was only a copy of the real heavenly tabernacle and because of sin, this worship service was limited.

Now in that focus, the New Covenant, Christ/Messiah came to earth. He is the True High Priest of better things to come. With a greater and more PERFECT example of the tabernacle, called the temple of God “in us” not made with hands. That is not made with things pertaining to our earthly existence. Note 1 Corinthians 2:9 and 1 Corinthians 6:19-20. Still this New Covenant with better promises is earth bound and residing in every natural mind of those of us being saved. A perfect and heavenly sanctuary living in the soul of each sinful man, woman and child who by faith have received the grace of God in Christ. 

Our SOUL is the only connection that we have with God and eternity, so when Jesus/Messiah provides Himself as the Lamb of God who takes away the sin in our soul, He “tabernacles” with us individually and He gives us His Spirit, we call this event “Christ in us our confident hope”. The apostle Paul speaks clearly of this in 2 Corinthians 3:1 through 5:8. This is a 3 minute read, but the joy of believing what you read will last for eternity. Jesus Christ is better than the copies of the Old, the holy place of the Old is replaced by the heavenly things themselves, even His sacrifice. 

Religion in every way is full of uncertainty, but with Jesus we are assured of better promises, this is because of the oath of God to us that He gave us His Son as the sacrifice for sin, and raised Him again to be our Great High Priest. Religion is a copy of our counterfeit worldly confusion, Christ is not a copy of anything in the world. He is the authentic Savior, for He did not enter a holy place made with the hands of man, He entered first the souls of those He justified, sanctified and glorified. So Christ was offered once to bear the sins of many. To those who eagerly wait for Him He will appear a second time, apart from sin for salvation, thus it is appointed for men (mankind) to die once, but after this the judgment.
