The Devotional - Deception is religiously practiced

The Devotional
Comment: When is the last time you filled your gas tank? Of course you noticed the screen output… “Do you want a receipt? Press – Yes or No! Be careful with your answer, even after you press “yes” look at your receipt. If you select “no receipt”, the clerk can add charges to your transaction. Also which has happened to me, the clerk added a $15 car wash to the receipt. When I noticed this I also noticed that the car washes were advertised at $5. When I challenged the clerk for the error, she calmly said “I’m sorry”, my reply was “yes ma’am I agree “you are sorry” and I walked out with a refund. “Dishonest scales are an abomination to the LORD, but a “just” weight is His delight.” (Proverbs 11:1) So my challenge this morning is… be careful out in the world, it is deceptive, untrustworthy and religiously shameful. “Be sober (self-controlled), be vigilant (watchful) because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour (1 Peter 5:8)
Devotional:
  • Hebrews 1:4 NKJV having become so much better than the angels, as He has by inheritance obtained a more excellent name than they.
  • Hebrews 6:9 NKJV But, beloved, we are confident of better things concerning you, yes, things that accompany salvation, though we speak in this manner.
  • Hebrews 7:7 NKJV Now beyond all contradiction the lesser is blessed by the better.
  • Hebrews 7:19 NKJV  for the law made nothing perfect; on the other hand, there is the bringing in of a better hope, through which we draw near to God.
  • Hebrews 7:22 NKJV  by so much more Jesus has become a surety of a better covenant.
  • Hebrews 8:6 NKJV But now He has obtained a more excellent ministry, inasmuch as He is also Mediator of a better covenant, which was established on better promises.
  • Hebrews 9:23 NKJV  Therefore it was necessary that the copies of the things in the heavens should be purified with these, but the heavenly things themselves with better sacrifices than these.
  • Hebrews 10:34 NKJV  for you had compassion on me in my chains, and joyfully accepted the plundering of your goods, knowing that you have a better and an enduring possession for yourselves in heaven.
  • Hebrews 11:16 NKJV  But now they desire a better, that is, a heavenly country. Therefore God is not ashamed to be called their God, for He has prepared a city for them.
  • Hebrews 11:35 NKJV  Women received their dead raised to life again. And others were tortured, not accepting deliverance, that they might obtain a better resurrection.
  • Hebrews 11:40 NKJV  God having provided something better for us, that they should not be made perfect apart from us.
  • Hebrews 12:24 NKJV  to Jesus the Mediator of the new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling that speaks better things than that of Abel.
In a room filled with people, say one hundred you may get two people to raise their hand if you asked such a question like this. “How many of you folks out there want to go to hell?” I have had such an opportunity and that is the response I received. Most people you know in life do not want to die and go to hell therefore we should be ready to give an answer of hope to everyone.

Above is the list of answers; Jesus is better than “angel worship” by reason of inheritance as the Son of God and His Name is excellent. If your religion does not speak, teach and challenge you in the things that pertain to salvation. That is the True and Living God, of death and resurrection, of grace and mercy and of judgment, then your religion is false.

Everything under the sun is lesser compared to Jesus, thus He alone is able to bless, no religion or man can bless – only God. Jesus is God. The Law of God will convince you and me of sin, but it will not sanctify and make us holy. Only Jesus can do this, therefore with Him we have a confident hope and therefore we can and do draw near to God through Him.

I will need to stop here for the day, but will pick it up tomorrow if the LORD tarries. God bless our nation, even so “Come LORD Jesus” Amen!
